Such a weird experience when you first get on one after only ever driving kingpost/centre booms. Makes you feel really blind on your right side and slewing just feels odd when you’re away from centre point.That's a lovely machine. Love a side mount boom

then you quickly think god this is brilliant all the weight isnt handing off the front and the boom actually folds up out of the way

Definitely don’t see side boom as disadvantage , the geometry of side boom with a counter weight gives a far nicer balanced machine . You can throw it around with confidence knowing it’s not going to lurch about all over the place .

Same. Used to hate getting back on a kingpost machine after being in my case. Aside from major visibility advantages I find the monoboom feel so responsive somehow

was it damn can't think of his name, farmer lad had 3cxs then Kubotas 5 toners and 3 ton and then a real nice 4 wheeler wagon, used to do a bit of work with Barry west by as well. think he was on old forum. always posts a picture of empty motorway on Christmas Day that his farm is next to....

It's only when you are on a bigger machine that the old style Japanese controls make sense, push left hand lever forwards and your seat moves in that direction

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
only thing missing is the pivot in the centre of the boom (VA) and a PAT blade
looks a weapon

Kobelco dont make a VA boom in that configuration at this time (few dealers in Europe retrofit/ modify) also i have enough new buttons/rollers to learn without thatonly thing missing is the pivot in the centre of the boom (VA) and a PAT blade

I have had mine for about 5 years. Only disappointment is I think it is a bit slow on tracking. Mine has rubber blocks which I don’t think help. Think I am on about 5500hrs
