Don’t like driving a dead man’s machine either,always just feels a bit “off” .
This is the last machine that our local (fantastic) operator ran till he died in a no fault motor bike accident (illegal DPD European driver on crossroads didn’t stop 🤬).

Owner still has the Volvo and it was out at Dads farm for some jobs earlier in the year with a different driver, but after a few years without daily cleaning it’s not looking the same. It will always be Marks machine. I think he used to put 2500 odd hours a year on a machine, I doubt it’s done half that in last 3 years since he died.
The machine in the other photo with the GSHP trenches is an older model as it was one of our jobs in 2018.
Oddly enough I’m off to look at the plumbing on the new house that his widow is moving into tomorrow. One of the few times in life I won’t be charging for my time :-/

My brother had a beautiful pristine Singer Vogue (Hunter style body) in gunmetal metallic, maaaaaaany years ago - Always swore that Alex was in the car with him - it very near killed him when he got T-boned - hit him clean out the passenger door, from the driver's seat - if he'd had a belt on he'd have died - 's why I rarely wear a belt :rolleyes:
On the upside, I got the O/drive box out of it for my GLS Holbay 120 Hunter when we gas axed what was left ..

a VERY fast motor in its day - Nottinghamshire plod used to use them for traffic cars 130mph motor (with the O/drive box)
slayed many a Doly Sprint/Lotus Cortina/Lotus Elan/MGB V8 with my GLS :LOL::LOL::giggle:
had it for a couple of years, late '70,s - couldn't find anything to compete/better it - sold it when they stopped doing 5 star - pinked like hell on anything less - got a dab hand at tuning / setting up twin Webber 40s, on a monthly basis :giggle:

fair play - you are so 'self sufficient' - that's two in a week isn't it :cool:
1 a week is about our limit - get kit there Monday and installation in the week - inspection and sign off Friday morning and tidy up.
Doesn't always work like that obviously but its best if we don't have to leave everything open ready for inspection over the weekend - we've had thunderstorms and floating pipes back.in the day 🤦

Was gonna say, you must be the go to man for tanks in your area(not surprising really!) 👌🏻
We've been nibbling away at it for a while now and have a good network of contacts 👍
I wanted to get into something that was a bit recession proof, when a house here changes hands if its not up to regs the new owners have a year to put it right, so its often highlighted during the sale and negotiated at that stage.

Well played, nice to hear when plans come to fruition.
