The scaffold is expanding…
Managed to make it to the supplier before five today to pick up a few more poles.

Never made school at all today , got half way down the A9 and came on a fatal accident at Aviemore . Road was shut the whole day . We had to turn and go back but before we did I witnessed some horrendous driving from frustrated drivers . I saw 2 cars turn around on the dual carriage way and drive back against on coming traffic to get to a gap in barriers to cross to other side . Sheer madness . Also a guy got turned at end of dual carriageway and aimed back towards inverness then he stopped in the outside lane of the dual carriageway while what looked like planning a new route . All the while vehicles that had turned further up the road were bearing down on him at 70mph . No feds to be seen to keep any order either .

A few years ago on the Devon Cornwall border the road was shut both ways for a very long time. Think a recovery truck driver had been hit (and I think killed) during a recovery. Extreme queues and miles between junctions. One enterprising chap got the impact gun out and removed a section of central barrier so people could U turn onto the empty carriageway and get away. He was fairly vilified in the news, but I thought it showed some gumption.

That would of been a better option yesterday

Today's job, well not my job, but the annual spud harvest 🙂 and il help eat them so it is today's job😆.
Second year now we've got a local lad to dig them, lot easier than the manual gathering we used to do.

Moving this thing again. Although it’s now painted pink rather than green which is possibly why the neighbours started whinging about it.

Digger has pulled it uphill from this spot once before, but it was just too greasy today. Called my mate who lives local and luckily he was around with his 85 year old matador. Job done, just the new trench for the leccy to go.

He bought the matador from a guy who bought it from another fellas widow who had been using it in this village in the 87 storm- it flipped and killed him. Luckily no repeats today

I’d always be a bit suspicious of a machine that’s killed somebody….
