Yes a couple , think this was for rebuilding the canal bank rather than dredging, Bude canal so not very long at the best of times .No low bridges on your canal?!
It's running a pump ?Yes a couple , think this was for rebuilding the canal bank rather than dredging, Bude canal so not very long at the best of times .
I think they must have been dredging it prior to knocking in the piles. Sorry, I meant that the object of the excercise was primarily repairs rather than dredging. Had half the car park set up as a silt settling compound , took bloody ages .It's running a pump ?
suction dedgeing probablyIt's running a pump ?
Would that not be a bit unstable?
Depends on the ballast I suppose ?Would that not be a bit unstable?
Slew that sideways with say 150kg of sludge in the bucket and the operators arse is surely going to have a tight grip in the seat cushion![]()
That was part of the dredging job which happened at a similar time to the piling but completely seperate contract..... Long and short was a complete disaster due to them choosing a contractor who was full of hopes and dreams and resulted in another contractor sorting the mess out after the first dreamers ran out of coin with there state of the art muppetry..... Utter waste of time pumping it creating a huge amount of additional waste, should of been grabbed out but the E.A permit said no (Zebra Mussles)...... I've already said too muchI think they must have been dredging it prior to knocking in the piles. Sorry, I meant that the object of the excercise was primarily repairs rather than dredging. That explains why...on our job the contractor was adamant nothing was to leave the canal...he knew his onions it appearsThat was part of the dredging job which happened at a similar time to the piling but completely seperate contract..... They ended up tankering the sludge away from memory when it became apparent that Dredgings with additional water take a very very long time to dry.
I've just tried to look for the firm that went out of buisness.... Long and short at the time I had a good chuckle.... some of the highlights was the operations manager with a sports science degree and one of the directors with a good CV of hospitality......
