so what has everyone had the last 36+ hrs then ? .....
been bloody wild here ... horizontal rain, snow for about 20 minutes (good job it didn't continue) 40 - 50+mph winds ...
last night was probably (and I know I've said it before, but) the worst night in the 11 years we've been here ... amazed there's not more damage ..thought the roof was gonna be away about 4 a.m  ..... only one slate off, but has lifted the ridge, escaping :( ... too windy still, to do anything about it though and according to the forecast that North wind is with us 'til mid day Monday :( ... feels like -3 / -4 C out there :( ... bitter !!

see there was a pub in Yorkshire - highest in the UK - snowed in last night and the hills around are all white here ..... wind has obviously taken the TV mast out locally as there's been no signal here all day, much to Pam's annoyance
winter is arriving with a vengeance
keep safe

cheers boyo .. not been outside much today ... too wild ...
did go down the village for some milk and put 6" of water back in the fish's pond ... blown out over night ...
everything's pretty well nailed down .. checked the polytunnel 'bout 1.30 last night and again this morning .. all seemed well .... it'd need to be an Easterly to get that again

gotten off very lightly last night TBH ... considering

Pretty windy here- and cold too- went out in the Moors earlier for a walk and the wind was Baltic. I like it- dries out the ground and everything else- better than rain!

It was a wild night (and parts of today) here in Cheshire. We have been very busy clearing trees off roads/buildings/overhead lines, and more to get on with tomorrow. One of the worst storms I’ve seen in recent memory from a damage point of view.

Can't beat a bit of carnage!
To be honest it’s work I really enjoy! Turn up, scratch head and work out how to minimise damage, chop stuff down, leave it in a pile and go!!! No clearing up, no worrying about wrecking lawns etc. And people are grateful for it!

Yes yes and yes! We used to do a fair bit of it when I lived in Warwickshire for a bit- was always a laugh- same as rescuing floating caravans with the Mog!

Don't know what you guys are complaining about.
Bit cold and a chilly wind here but nothing worth writing home about

genuinely had a job to stand against it here last night ... had to go get Squeakymog's litter tray back in, from the shed, last night about 12.00... he couldn't get out the door :LOL: ... much as he tried, wind was taking him off his feet ... was comical

As said earlier ... very lucky to get off so light here .... one slate lifted a ridge as it escaped  .... but got just about everything else nailed to the planet ;):)

Been a bit rough around here too, had power out for just over a day and some not far away still have no power. A few trees down on roads blocking progress and a load of small stuff strewn across the roads.

I went for a walk and heard what sounded like a tree falling over 10 minutes later heard the same thing again, the crackling sound of wood splintering. Didn't see anything but was certainly keeping my wits about me as I walked past trees. That was about 1 p.m. Haven't checked the roof yet.. too cold to go outside!
