sadly by the end of May the authorities responsible for it all will have lost 99% of it and we'll all be on hose pipe bans because of their ineptitude in dealing with the commodity they're supposed to be managing for the rest of usWe really shouldn't moan about the rain, places like Barcelona are already in drought conditions with water rationing, and most of the south of spain is set to follow shortly. This country is an amazingly sustainable place and I think we forget that while we're getting wet.
The next big commodity is going to be clean drinking water, then we can start charging the Arabs per barrel, and just raise the price because we feel like it, see how they like it.
This is why we can't opt out of having a water meter now, so they can tell you you have a leak on your property and it needs to be fixed, all because some smart arse in government tried to hold the water suppliers accountable for water wastage, so they were basically children and said " it's not us it's them! " and blamed the general public.sadly by the end of May the authorities responsible for it all will have lost 99% of it and we'll all be on hose pipe bans because of their ineptitude in dealing with the commodity they're supposed to be managing for the rest of us
Known fact - they lose far more than they actually deliver to us - and that is why it costs everyone so much ... like putting 20ltr of fuel in your vehicle and another 30 ltrs on the floor EVERYTIME you fill up -- ultimately we are ALL paying for their incompetence
conversely if you are a low user - you're only paying for what you use - ditto sewage chargesThis is why we can't opt out of having a water meter now, so they can tell you you have a leak on your property and it needs to be fixed, all because some smart arse in government tried to hold the water suppliers accountable for water wastage, so they were basically children and said " it's not us it's them! Yep shite all week it did stop around 2pmwell we had everything here Saturday morning ...
frost, sun, sleet, snow, howling winds, rain, hail and a dry-ish pleasant-ish afternoon
yesterday was a significant improvement and got around all the edges of everywhere with the strimmer, in anticipation of maybe some mowing later in the week ... standing water on the lawn was receding/drying up in the strong breeze
then it lashed down here all night again and the standing water is even worse -- has stopped for a while ATM, but sky's not looking good ...... forecast for the week is utter shite .... will it ever end?????????????![]()
as sixfeet said earlier .... was pretty grim 'til about 2-ish ..... 'sposed to have pee-ed it down all day ... and again tomorrow/wed.s ..... be interesting to see how much of a **** up they make of those forecasts tooDidn’t even bother today… admin work then went to Costco… never seen the carpark completely full before!!!!
They were queing halfway down the shop to pay…!! nipped around the side straight to a till, in and out in 30mins![]()
'sposed to have lashed it down here today ... not seen a drop all day 'til a bit of drizzle after dark - 13C and no wind - been quite a nice day and got quite warm raking up 9 barrow loads of green stuffYep shite all week it did stop around 2pm
followed by a rough night, plenty of rain and wind ..... snow on the hills all around this morning'sposed to have lashed it down here today ... not seen a drop all day 'til a bit of drizzle after dark - 13C and no wind - been quite a nice day and got quite warm raking up 9 barrow loads of green stuff![]()
Turning well and truly white outside at the moment. Was white this morning but didn't hang around.followed by a rough night, plenty of rain and wind ..... snow on the hills all around this morningunreal !
in Devon FFS?Update- have had 4 inches of snow land in the last 1.5hrs. not seen anything like this for a long while. Wasn't even forecast![]()
I reckon we've had more snow in the last 2 hours than the last 6 years combined. 6 years ago was the beast from the east which was colder and windier- but I'd say volume wise this is far more impressive. Even Rorys got some down in the tropics of Devonin Devon FFS?'least it is only lashing down with rain here ATM .. but cold enough to go the other way too
.... global warming be ****ed
