Outside is a waste of time anyway tbh at the mo, there's very little worth doing that won't have been 1 step forwards 2 steps back when it warms up.
Saw on other social media one of the "influencers" has been subbasing roads on site over the past few days and putting base tar down. What that will turn out like when 3 or 4 layers of frost comes out I'd like to see.

the North Easterly we've all been getting is 'sposed to swing around 180 to the south west and bring us 13-14 degs next week ... but sadly rain with it Sun./Mon. .... rest of the week 's looking pretty good though, but getting cooler again

that car is going to take some digging out ..... assuming you're able to drive it anywhere if you did

was skiing in Italy in the early '90s and we had over 10 feet in one dump, overnight ... unbelievable scenes the following morning ... couldn't get out of the hotel, let alone get to a lift across the road, which were all buried anyway .... was 30 hrs before anything was operational again, even as well equipped as they were, was a mega-incident, as far as they were all concerned ... place was simply buried

I know we always say it....but it's beyond wet now. Even had the honour of road closed signs from council now the lanes that bad .. boats and 4x4s only...plus the odd hapless meriva ...
He flagged me down the other side of the "lake" do you have any jump leads mate...what for ? Oh I tried to come through this flood and my car died...but I think if I jump start it ...it will be ok...

Without getting into a climate change conversation, at what point do you think groundworks and earthmoving in this country will have seasons like other countries. It feels like for the last month before Christmas we just rolled around in slop without achieving anything. Definitely not as profitable as the work should have been

HAppy New Year all!
I have a building firm up on North Northumberland Coast with 10 lads of varying trades & I am constantly checking the weather to plan work & I have noticed that there appears to be more prolonged spells of weather patterns, be it dry, rainy, windy etc than I can remember it 10 or so years ago? But we are one of the driest areas of the country due to protection from cheviot hills & other factors above my pay grade & I sometimes wonder how you get things done over in the NW for instance with the volume of rainfall.

I'm guessing I'm not alone sat picking through the calander looking for the jobs we might be able to do in this shite to get some money coming back in this January, times like this when I'm happy to be more or less a one man band.
