just need to:-

sort clutch
do brakes
make a ’new‘ accelerator pedal
get the spools to work from the cab
reconfigure both the oil and fuel tanks and fit them
get the gear leaver to change gears
relocate the hand brake (after I’ve free the cable and found a ‘new’ handle)
fit the rear mud guards (after I’ve cut them down to size)
did I say it’s a two seater cab so all the drivers controls need to be on the left hand side

so nearly there now

Oil and fuel tanks cut up

and re welded back together so the filler is at the top and the outlets are in the right place
and a few new brackets to fix them to the dumper

then got a very important piece of the puzzle of this piece of junk

and a question?

where do I connect the heater hoses do I use these two ports, one on the water pump and the other on the thermostat housing as I can’t see any other place

sounds reasonable Mog ... 's block side of the thermo, so'll be the first water to warm up ....
don't forget a tap to turn it off in the warmer weather ...
basically paralleling up with that little L shaped hose (might want to put a tap in that too) to make sure the water goes to / flows through the heater matrix ... but'll need one or t'other open at all times

Used the gear leaver and cable linkage out of this


to get the spools controls to between the seats

even managed to get the clutch connected too

still a few things to do like make a step behind the wheel for easy access, get a new hand brake lever (when one comes in the scrap obviously) and a nice chrome stack behind the cab oh and one of the slew rams is leaking a bit behind the gland

How very dare you there’s a picture somewhere of the ’duck’ I made and it was 4 wheel drive, makes that one look home made but this one does have a thumb

2 wheel and 4 wheel drive with a hi and low transfer box out of a suzuki sj mated to land rover axles

Not a creation more of a fix

my dad (who is 93) uses my old Takeuchi as a garden implement (made him a big rake for it etc.) but it was very slow on one side tracking so brought it back to the yard for a diagnosis
after a few pressure readings were taken found one side of the dual piston pump was down on pressure

so off with the back of the machine and fuel tank to get access the the pump

drop the hydraulic oil and off with the pump

then to find a clean area in me shed

pull the pump to bits to find a few scores in the brass end that runs on the piston barrel bit


now after a bit of wet’n’dry 1200 on a mirror (for the flat surface)

all the ridges rubbed out

before after

then bang it all back together and

pressure back to normal (I backed the screw off on the pump when I dissembled it so needs a little tweak)

not a bad mornings work

I had a good lathe man (not me) skim one and polish it once it’s worked perfectly ever since
