That’s a f###ing scary thing, see how long it took for (I think) the mudguard to come back down😳 .
I drove a 555c ,smaller engined version in Oz, it was a really good machine,pushed like hell and very stable,all easy to repair.
The only picture I have of it(or a bit of it)!

yeh that's a pretty impressive muddy launch .... must've gone up a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way !! :oops::oops:

have had a couple of 10.00-20 blowouts in my old Demag 30 tonner with 120psi in 'em .... the bang from just behind the cab is life shortening -- to say nothing of the resultant excitement wrestling it back under control, as it takes a dive to the right :oops:o_O:poop:

I had just bought a little fiesta van for my oldest to learn to drive in. I was taking it out to look at a job. A30 lane 2 and flat out over taking a HGV when one of his trailer tyres blew out on me. Proper brown trousers time. Pulled over and got my breathing under control . Got out expecting the car to be full of holes.. it was fine, but Christ it s**t me up 😂

had one like that going over Bodmin, maaany years ago with a boat on the back of the motor ...
'tis quite the experience for sure and one you never forget ...
in fact any commercial blow out, whether you're alongside or actually driving it is unforgettable :oops:o_O

put up a dash cam vid a few years ago of a loaded low loader having a steering axle blow out on a DC, crossing the off side lane and ending up through the armco on t'other side of the DC .... a sobering testament to not lingering alongside any commercial, longer than you need to - don't run with them, hang back and then get past A.S.A.P. -- you just never know :unsure::sick:

Yeah detached at the base of the airbag. I did have to load the digger on an awkward slope which resulted in the back of the truck lifting up somewhat (rear axle still on the ground though)- wondered if that caused undue stress on the airbag and it blew 10 mins later on the road.

Taken today while visiting the Cat factory at Desford. This old girl sits outside the demonstration area. Note the front bucket linkage.View attachment 66582
My dad had one on demo back in the day. He didn't like it, told his boss why and he said don't you worry it's cat they'll soon make it the best...many years after it was nothing but a cat backhoe here.
