How long?

0.25 acre x 10 days = 2.5 acres (which is just over 1 hectare). That’s very easily achievable, and should only require a single pass as a half decent operator should have time to keep the job and tip tidy and trim up etc whilst waiting for the dumper to return.
Worst case if they decide to have the tip further away just price in a second/third etc dumper. The only additional consideration then would be keeping the tip tidy if it is a long way from the dig.
My mistake. in my head i'm thinking 5ha total whereas obviously i asked for a time to do 1 hectare. sorry!

Would a couple of 6 ton dumpers not be quicker if ground allows. Would think if 200m haul that would be about the right turn around on a 6 ton dumper. 9 tonners there could be some waiting around.

5 ha's is over 12 acres..... thats a fair lump of ground. Id definitely be thinking dozer
Surely not if you have to push it one end to another? Fair enough if it was a huge long strip oppose to a square block? Some push otherwise.. 5ha is 20+ton and a couple of adts with a dozer tidying up the dig and probably one on the tip?

Just go in at day rate for 3 ton and track dumper be nice little job few weeks haha you boys getting all excited with 20 tonners and adts the soil compaction would be horrendous it isn’t hs2 small section like your saying we’d go in with 5 ton on 550mm pads 5 ton dumper do 1 a day nice little job.

And @doobin i want insinuating you don’t know how to roll bracken I was replying to Cheshire lad about flail and spray.

I stand by my original opinion and comment........ Fyi that was based on a hectare.

For reference 100mm is less than you would tend to strip off topsoil. And it's light fluffy material. Scrape, load in a tracked dumper, and repeat..... In the tip cycle you will have time to gather another load up.... rotary tracked dumpers aswell please.

You said half hectare section which is an acre ish basically small paddock 2 guys strip and move that with a 5 ton machine and 5 ton track dumper in a full day assuming its not thick but Rory’s right if you've got access to bigger kit and access ok between sites then bigger machine better upto a point
