plenty every where ....... but this one has THREE engines and runs one, two, or three, depending on the load :oops:
For a genset rated 1.3MW, there is plenty of time it could be running part load.
I've baby-sat a gen that spent most of it's time powering nothing but the crib hut, but had to sized for four large (sewage) pumps (no one wanted the gen to be undersized - that wouldn't have been good for anyone)

after the debacle I am hardly surprised ... especially as the grid is not fit for purpose in this case

Lots of different methods of getting Hydrogen in a usable form. some uses coal or natural gas and has higher CO2 emission than just using the fossil fuel in the first place! It’s definitely part of the future for a transportable fuel to replace LPG and petrol/derv. All the Gas / LPG boilers we fit are ready for 20% hydrogen mix,

the problem they were having in Redcar was their ability to keep it contained in the aging distribution network of essentially very old pipework ... basically was 'too risky':ROFLMAO:

Listened to some info on micro reactors - road transportable - doing about 20megawatts 🤔 sounded promising.
yes .. believe Siemens are developing a unit .. looks a bit futuristic in their 'aritst's impression' pix I've seen

looks like some 'consultant(s) some where will have made a bundle making sure all the key buzzwords got used :censored:

and here's one of 'em
" Dr. James Cadman, Head of Consultancy and Climate at Action Sustainability and co-author of the report "

" When procuring HVO, it is essential to conduct due diligence to source sustainably from reputable suppliers, using assurance schemes like the UK's Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme (RFAS). This approach is crucial for transitioning away from fossil fuels, protecting the planet, and achieving net zero targets responsibly. "

would there really be any other type of source???? :unsure:o_O
what a load of old bollox
and once again if you want access to their 'report' .. you will have to register and give them all your info. for their data gathering algorithms to sift through

having a laff

" The Climate Change Committee’s 2024 progress report to parliament today shows how badly off track the UK currently is.

While the country’s emissions are now less than half the levels they were in 1990 – largely due to the phase out of coal and the ramping up of renewables – getting to net zero is rather harder. Only a third of the remaining emissions reductions required to achieve the 2030 target are currently covered by credible plans, the Climate Change Committee says.

The committee has set out 10 recommendations. Top among these are to make electricity cheaper, reverse recent policy rollbacks and ramp up rates of tree planting and peatland restoration.

It says that annual offshore wind installations needs to increase by at least three times, onshore wind installations will need to double and solar installations must increase by five times by 2030.

Approximately 10% of existing homes in the UK will need to be heated by a heat pump, compared to only approximately 1% today. There are roughly 30 million homes in the UK. To hit 10% by 2030 will mean fitting around 1,600 heat pumps a day, seven days a week for five years.

The Climate Change CommitteeIt also says that the market share of new electric cars needs to increase from 16.5% in 2023 to nearly 100% by 2030. "
