It might not sound like it but I think electric cars are a load of bollox by the way!
I do see a place for small commuter/shopping/school run cars (with a 100ish mile range) to be electric, and work as a combined grid battery as described, but having just electric cars across the board is a ridiculous proposal that solves no environmental issues.
Tbf I can see the point of hybrid either ice or hydrogen. But mainly from a performance point of view. No denying electric transmissions have amazing statistics. But whole green cars need a battery breakthrough as ATM they are just moving problems around especially when it comes to disposal.
I think a breakthrough will come but in the meantime there are a lot of people barking up the wrong tree
And I think there are plans for small scale water storage in the forms of towers and the like almost to act as dampers within the system. But don't know how likely it is to happen
