Exactly ..not much talk of how power cuts effect electric cars...think you'll find most folk that live out in the sticks have sensible cars.
Someone was telling me if you charge at these new supercharger and pay as you go places it's up to .69 per kw...so thats easily 70 quid on a big battery...

CNG is / can only be used as an addition to the diesel fuelling system ... bit like NOS in a petrol engine .. what a massively misleading headline statement

bet we don't hear much more about this, now they've 'ticked the box' ...... be very interesting to have some figures on the truck (weights, etc.) and it's rolling use for the next 12 mths

My thoughts right across the board has always been less energy consumption for a start and worry about how its produced after (can work on both tbh).

Yup and like rhi payments on biomass and gshp which pay out for kw produced so get the heating cranked up and the windows open.

know a guy local who has rads in all his outbuildings pumping the heat out ... milking parlour's like a sauna, stock sheds're are tropical and the barns are tee shirt climates .... unfknbelievable

Those Iveco`s are 100% gas, there is no diesel tanks on them.

must have an ignition system then and not a diesel engine converted to run mix as was the M.O. for CNG conversions originally, with compression ignition engines (CNG won't, on its own - needs a spark)

just looked up the bio CNG and ....
" Bio-CNG, (or compressed Biomethane) differs from fossil-derived CNG/LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) as it is a bi-product from the decomposition of food and animal waste. This is safely collected in an anaerobic digester and then injected into the gas grid. "
so once "injected into the gas grid" 't ain't so green then, is it??
probably becomes an almost immeasurably small proportion in relation to the fossil derived CNG/LNG in the grid, so again saying it is bio CNG is utter bollox

would be so much easier, cheaper and less risky to run LPG ... both fossil derived

CNG liquifies at 296 bar as opposed to LPG's 7 bar ... CNG tanks are usually at least 12+ mm thick, LPG 3-4mm ..... CNG vehicle installations are a serious task in comparison to LPG and the refuelling net work virtually non existent in comparison
I've always been a big proponent of LPG .... pity the governments weren't and paid it little more than lip service, late 90's early 2000,s, to 'be seen' to be promoting it

So relatively simple and could undoubtedly be used in massively wide-ranging applications. This sort of tech needs shouting about and incentivising into the mainstream (hopefully the fuel savings alone will open people’s eyes).

A customer’s Tesla ‘popped’ on their drive and lost all power - something major had tripped out. Tesla tried sorting it remotely with no luck so sent their recovery truck and took it away for repair.
A very low tracked lift of some description picked the car up off their drive from the back and carried it onto the recovery truck - I’ve seen a pic and it’s an expensive (and impressive!) looking setup!
