I really want to see someone with a big Genny in the back of one of these and the plug snaking around and charging whilst they drive...be a good bit of craic. Guessing it won't allow it unless stationary?

So ranger is in getting some bits sorted and have been given an e transit for the courtesy van.
125 miles to a full charge, have driven to Tamworth and will be a good 30 miles short of charge, so currently sat in mcds whiles it's charging.

Was near enough empty on the way up and will have not a great deal of weight on the way back.
Welcome to my world..
TBF tho, i only 'visit' sites now,so the time on site is less if i have to charge for an hour or so..
If i travel over x miles,i can expense lunch so invariably this is charging at a Mc D whilst stuffing my face.
Electric cars make you fat. Im porking up a treat.. 😀

Just got back, cost me £26.65 to add 31.35kw. The charger says just over 116 miles added, the reality is, it's barely added 40 miles of range in the 42 minutes of charging.

I've now got 20 miles of range left to get it back to the dealer which is plenty

It must be the small battery version as Google comes up with a 200 ish mile range.

Cost wise, besides the ridiculous cost of the things, it's more expensive to run than my ranger, even when towing and that's with the transit practically empty, fair bit less than 150kg with me and the kit on the way up and less than 400kg on the return leg.

Home charging must make more sense but my rough guess with having to use a charge point and £26 to gain 40 miles of charge it would be another £65 to get it back to full.

Thankfully I don't need to return it fully charged, as they said they'll charge it, although not sure if they meant from a reasonable amount or near enough flat.

It also doesn't give a low battery warning till you get to 20 miles 😂

I don't think they move when charging, although didn't try it. Car park was tiny, stupid bollard near the charge point meant having to hang over the bay in front to be able to open the door, another van pulled in front but stuck out a fair way as the charge point sticks out the front, unlike all the other electric motors I seen that seem to have the points on the side like normal filler caps

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Yeah that's pretty much what I came up with when found out the range this morning. Was hoping it was just an average or loaded figure but nope, that's a best case, running empty scenario.
Currently still waiting and seems to have added around 30 miles of charge so still got a bit of a wait as it's tight on the dash Vs the sat nav distance
I assume it'll be flat when they come to collect it :giggle::devilish::devilish:

Just called them to check and my ranger isn't done or by the sounds of it even started so, got it for another day which is a shitter as not only can I not charge it at the house but was meant to be out in the 3t. To be fair the weather was apparently crap today so at least will have a day to dry out. So change of plans and looks like will have to go sit at a charger for a while at some point

I'd be telling them you're sending them a bill for transport for your 3Tonner, as they've not supplied you with a like for like vehicle and they're disrupting your business operations, with the consequential losses, their liability .... might promote enthusiasm to stick to their given schedule for your truck

None of there courtesy vehicles have towbars, last time I had a msrt transit custom, would rather use there motors as little as possible the msrt was £800 excess for any damage and this electric one is £500 and that's for all damage bar stone chips.
I could collect mine this evening but would then have to get it booked back in which was a good month wait for this appointment. Nothing really pressing this week could jump onto the micro as it already sat on a job but don't want to do multiple journeys to do the work then go back and collect it on a separate day, plus its levelling off a muddy garden and could do with it drying out as was a sticky mess friday

This is typical MC Don charger. .85p a KW. It's .25p at my home and that's a standard rate, not an ev rate deal. This s**t is so unregulated, even motorway fuel isn't nearly 4x the average..

Same charger I used earlier, 85p/kWh seems to be what the 150kwh chargers are priced at yet from the one earlier and the one just now (no 3 pin plug charger with the van) they seem to barely pump out 40kwh so are charging the 150 rate premium while delivering less than a third of the advertised rate.
I've done over £70 in charging today and it's done less than 200 miles and only just back up to around 3/4 of a charge.

Electric is definitely not the future, it's a big rip off

This is my home charging for April for comparison,at 25p per kWh.
The problem our company seems is when the home chargers breakdown we wait up to a month for a repair.Ive spoken to quite a few colleagues with constant problems. As our company car private use charge is quite generous,it's based on a assumption that most charges are at home I.T.R.O. 15-25p per unit.
If we do a month on external chargers at 85p upwards, they will eventually look to up the charges to us. A bit of a problem brewing I think..

Does the app work on estimated miles added? Is the miles added far off your actual miles?
Charging prices are mental 308.62kwh is £77.16 at 25p/kWh Vs £262.33 at 85p/kWh 🤯

It's quite accurate TBF. That's my worry about pricing, the difference in home v away.

My company said the average car user does 80 miles a week,so home charging is normally enough. If you do charge out,do just enough to get home...This average is skewed by office staff members who only go work and home again.

In the set up you input your vehicle etc and it uses a database.
The unit has a mobile chip in it and it fires off reports to them. They then send a payment to my supplier monthly. It seems to work ok so far.. That's why I'm not going to a ev tariff, the day to day rate for normal electricity is slightly higher so I would lose for their gain.
