could not believe the blizzard that greeted me when I looked out the back door this morning, having turned the light on to see WTF was all over the car at 06.45
was expecting a good frost last night ... not bloody white shite !! was horizontal and if it'd kept up we'd have had some dump
thought to myself - tha's the day ****ed !!
remarkably, by the time we got back about nine, after delivering the kids to nursery/school .. the sun was out .. still a bitterly cold northerly though - proper fruz, but better than it started

Pam was off out for the day with one of her mates and'd gone by 09.30 .. had some brekky and went and found some suitable layers, to wear, for a day at the splitter in a hooley ..... and ventured out, for a bit more of the same again
Filled little Jakie with some fuel and wound him and the 'Drema up to assault the rest of what I'd gotten cut ... got down to the gnarly bits by half one .. as said if it won't split, just guillo it .. sod all stops this splitter

went and had some lunch, then got Charlie out to make a LOT more sawdust ...and some more rings

got best part of the way through the fourth ring off the butt and realised I was headed for the chain underneath it, which it was sat on, so had to wind her up again to get the chain out

so tidied up the discs a bit whilst I was at it and chucked a few more though the splitter ... this was a bit of a mutha to wrestle about

The inevitable happened quick again and i'd decided that the 10 x 5 probably had enough in it for today -- if not a tad 'overloaded' .. was more in it , than that, by the time I'd run out of light - it'll cope ....... and sheeted it again in case of more snow

the burning bin full of sawdust has been burning away all day, so tidied up a bit more stuff and emptied my bin of dross/splintered/shattered bits off the splitter table into the top of it - has burnt down a good foot since I tumped it full, so is burning quietly and'd made room for some more
got a small mountain of sawdust - again - from Charlie's efforts, this afters ... gonna take a while to be rid of it all.
Got a ring to finish off on the butt and might get one, possibly two more off it, 'fore it gets a bit iffy .
Girls again in the morning at 08.00 and we have Harper all day (take Clara to school for nine), so I doubt I'm gonna get a lot done tomorrow.

had burnt down nicely by this morning, so shot another load of general dross, sawdust, etc., in on top again and has been smouldering away all day ... will check it out later - see if I can get some more in there to keep it going ... gonna be a few bags of ashes for the bin men next time they're due

just been and had a look at it - still smoking well so summat must be on fire down in the depths of the drum no room for more yet though

been a beautiful day - 'kin cold and windy - but should've been out there massacring some more rounds with the splitter

wet night forecast so thought I'd get the trailer unloaded into the woodshed ..... 'kin cool start here

laid the sheet out to thaw/dry off and hauled the trailer down to the wood shed .. Kia knew it was on there

trailer volume is 4.5M3 but obviously lot of air gaps in there too - was pretty heavy though - trailer is 500kgs and built for 1800kgs running weight - was a lot more than that
finished lobbing and sorting them all, just in time to collect Clara at 3 o'clock, from school

think my right arm now has RSI --
it was deffo aching from pulling the lever on the splitter, lobbing this lot into the trailer and is now in need of a rest having lobbed all this lot into the shed and tidied up the front end to keep them all in place
at least it's not all gonna get p*ssed on tonight

We've been working through a tonne bag of offcuts from a friend's fencing business recently. Burns real easy but need to mix it with some decent stuff to avoid buildup!
Picked up a load quite cheaply on our way back from dursley today also so we are provisioned for the next few weeks.
Both of us have been riddled with cold/flu/COVID the last week or so tho.

Pam has a mega cough that she just doesn't seem able to shake ... odd thing is I haven't caught it ?
she's had it 3 weeks ... time for some medical intervention I think

was swinging/lobbing those blocks today, chucking 'em about 15-20 ft and suddenly thought, hope this doesn't p*ss off my gall bladder/stones, with the repetitive motion of the right arm, but seem fine ATM ... see what 3 a.m. brings ... that's the usual kick off time for 'a bad night' ...

Helen has had it for about a week longer than me. I came down Sunday (was an arse cos I missed the second day of the Lego show and had to drag my arse in to collect my display) and have been off work all week.

Stupid thing is she has had both COVID and flu jabs and all I've had is a flu jab. I wasn't allowed a COVID jab or flu jab on the NHS while she was, had to pay for my flu jab. Glad I didn't waste the money on a COVID jab too!

won't have either of 'em - take my chances - have had 'the coof' 6 times now, with recovery times improving on each occasion was over the last dose in under two weeks

Fortunately Rabies is extremely rare in the Uk.

The more my wife carries out research on vaccines the more she is convinced they all do more damage than good. The problem with any flu like vaccine is it is not accurate in manufacture to all the different variants. So you stimulant the immune system to fight the “wrong” variation of what you have caught. So you get your jab for flu, you body starts fighting it, but it ignores the need to fight the cough because your body has been confused to fight the version you had jabbed. Add in all the stuff that they put in the vaccine to make it stable, which has the possibility of causing other damage.
We have gone medical intervention free are making a lifestyle choice of massively reducing carbs and eating more meat and other animal products. Very little milk in our diet now which has not made the local milkman so happy.

considering this little fella was a wild animal - all teeth and claws and couldn't get near him earlier this year, I think he's realised that life as a house cat ain't all that bad .. in fact he's become quite a character

the 'visit' to the vet's shortly may alter his attitude for a while, but he certainly knows which way up his bread is buttered

Dry-ish morning so got 'suitably togged' for the nasty little Northerly howling down the patch and went to deal with the rest of the rings I had cut ------ and the odd 'gnarly bit'

one of the other advantage of this weapon is that aside from being unstoppable, the table is a damned good size for dealing with large lumps

plenty of space to stack the victims, while dealing with their brethren, once they've parted company from 'the collective' and plenty of space to park 'the lumps', pre-dismemberment

you'd want a good pair of arms to deal with a table full, without the 'Drema and the Cranab though
got a good half a trailer load out of what was sat ..

got two rings too big for the splitter .. gonna need some attention from 'Charlie the chainsaw' to get 'em on the table and a few more to cut off the butt, but decided to park what I'd split in the shed, fore it got rained on any more, now it was all split .. rare glimpse of the sun in that pic .... was 'sposed to have been a blue sky day today - that didn't happen
