beaten by the bloody light again this afters .... only got 3 or 4 lumps left to split .... :( and just too dark to be safe
did get a disc off the stump, with a bit of a fight ... too big a diameter for the 20" bar ... came off in bits with some wedges
and managed to stand the lump up out the way for now, ('s bloody heavy:oops:), so's I can have a bit of a square up, shift some knackered filing cabs, rad.s, etc. and deal with all the crud the oak brought down with it, to hopefully tidy up the bank

:oops::oops: ... no coolant?

that is a lovely piece of plate Dermot ... CR4??.. have contemplated banging a few holes in my bench, 'here and there', towards the centre which is hard to clamp down to, but often use wedges and 'L' plates if I have to ... nice to see you've de-burred/countersunk the holes:cool:(y)
My 6' x 4' Windley bench has threaded holes already - but is usually covered in crap :(

last slice yesterday - bitterly cold day here and rained on/off -
joined the rest in the trailer to give me a.n.other half load :giggle: to get lobbed into the woodshed yesterday, late afternoon ... tree V filing cab ------ tree-1--file cab-nil :( .... the rad. took the brunt though IMHDO - would've been a lot flatter

must give me scrappy's G/son a call -- Tony, my usual guy, died last year, riddled with the big C and didn't even know :(

as I say, t'was 'lobbed'in through the open door in the half light, just as it was starting to drizzle and got 95% in there 'fore it got wet -- tidy up another day -

kids today (Harper all day!) and think I may have gotten Matt's (@pettsy 's ) gut bug ...
not ventured far from the facilities today for long ..
the twenty minute school run was about the limit:oops:....
can't see how the hell I caught it just reading his post though :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
as said - Harper from 08.00 'til gone 5 o'clock tonight ..
been a long day in more ways than one :sick:
" Grand dad will you build me a rocket please ? " .. fair play she'd had a crack at it but those magnetic square things are slippery suckers for little hands -- she'd get about half way and then it'd implode -- clever things though, fair play
WP_20251127_11_26_34_Pro.jpg

and then she dragged the train track box out :censored: ..... she's getting better at building (putting it together, at least) but making the ends meet, is still a bit of an art form, yet to be mastered .... :giggle:

no idea how many of these I've put together for her, but it's a LOT !!

Collect kids morning .. in town for 07.45 ... jeez did it rain again last night - none forecast and thought we were gonna get a frost at half twelve - was seeeriously cold .. shocked to hear it lashing on the Velux by 01.00
soooo .. dropped Clara off and back in town for 08.30 - hit the food shops ... on our way home by half eleven, 300 quid lighter (bear in mind this is a two/three weekly hit) - if we were doing that weekly I'd be :oops:o_O .. unload, chill (early start and busy morning), some lunch and do all we hadn't usually gotten done, first thing, then togged for an hour or three outside tidying up some more
Wound the 'Drema up and let her warm up, then grabbed my 50mm forks from the front of the 6t tipper where they 'live' in their rack
WP_20251202_15_23_41_Pro.jpg
WP_20251202_15_24_23_Pro.jpg

always put 'em on hook first ... no chance of the jaw dropping 'em ;) and grabbed a pallet ..................................................... to park this semi-knackered one on
WP_20251202_15_26_16_Pro.jpg
WP_20251202_15_28_54_Pro.jpg

WP_20251202_15_37_45_Pro.jpg

up, threaded out of its spot and away to get parked on the bench for 'ron/another day's activities ;):giggle:- dropped the 50mm forks on the deck and grabbed the Cranab again to stuff that bloody stump in where the IBC came out of, 'til I can be bothered to have a.n.other go at the damned thing
WP_20251202_15_38_41_Pro.jpg
WP_20251202_15_49_34_Pro.jpg

sorry forgot to grab a pic ...... then dropped the Cranab back off again to hang the 6t tipper off the lift point and wrestle it back into roughly the same spot it came out of
WP_20251202_16_03_11_Pro.jpg

and was running out of light rapidly ... parked said trailer and grabbed the 50mm forks to drop 'em back in their parking slot on the front of the trailer
WP_20251202_16_22_42_Pro.jpg

then grabbed me parking plate for the VA-r, but the light was well and truly against me so thought better of dropping it off tonight and tomorrow looks set to be a decent enough day
WP_20251202_16_22_30_Pro.jpg

so just laid her out, where she sat, for tonight

seems reasonably well put together for the money - fitting the bar and chain was a bit of a faff - comfy and lightweight though ... was dark by the time I got to look at it, so'l get some fuel at the weekend ... Harper all day tomorrow and got the day with Pam's sister and hubby, Friday
tidied the woodshed, first thing squared it up a bit  and then burnt all the crud/scabby bits off the floor
then set about 'flat packing' the filing cabinets ... one of 'em was the best made cab I've seen ... took a bit of demolishing
what's left of two of 'em ... worst one on top - next time I have the 'Drema running, I'll give it all a squeeze ;):giggle:
WP_20251203_15_59_38_Pro.jpg

all the rest is in here :giggle:
WP_20251203_15_59_44_Pro.jpg

draws, rails, etc., etc. ... might get the rest of me scrap bins in there too
WP_20251203_15_59_59_Pro.jpg

was running out of light 'rapido', so 'fore it got totally dark I thought i'd give Mr Aldi's little battery washer a try for ten minutes ... dropped the syphon hose into the top of the IBC and gave it some
worked reasonably well at mud removal and the green shite

I know sentiments range from indifference to taking the p*ss on the subject of chainsaws, but TBF to that Hyundai 20" chainsaw i bought, aside from it eating the pull cord once (which i suspect was partially my fault, for letting go of it), I have given that saw a right bollocking with the oak recently and it has performed faultlessly ... cost me 150 quid a while back and if anyone's after a cheapy they currently on offer at £110.50 delivered with 3 yr warranty (and a spare chain and cover)
