I used to have Volvos and test drove a 850 T5 once. I walked away from that as I thought it might actually kill me one day. Think they used to map them upto 300hp.
I’ve kinda lost the enthusiasm for mapping stuff, it’s never seems as pleasant as a factory tune. I’ve had offer to take Dmax upto 190 odd, but not bothered. Stock 163 seems enough normally. I’ve got my camper running at 185 and to be honest it’s not as nice as the 140 it was before.
Best thing you can do with the dmax is have it mapped out to stop the oil dilution. If your doesn't do it, it will.

I also had it mapped for extra umph and it's night and day. Definitely worth doing. I did use the bloke who's raved about on the Facebook forums, he is definitely recommended and a very knowledge lad, I will be using him again. He does alot more than just remaps, he's proper mechanic.

850! Always wanted to try the legendary R ! Mental for back then.
And yet most modern family cars are as fast now.

Yes but they are bigger and bulkier nowadays.

Was out in the bmw e39 over the weekend, only a 3.0 still a quick motor and what a pleasure to drive, nothing modern feels the same, Yes there's insane power but actual feel in modern stuff isn't there, like it used to be.

Every now and then a V8 Volvo comes up on eBay. They seem seriously cheap horse power for what they are.same as the VW phaetons that comes up with a V10 engine. Probably be outperformed nowadays by an MG crossover but must be good fun.

Dads is starting to fill up the oil and it’s same age as mine and lower miles. It’s due some magic soon.
Will see how it goes and then maybe look at mine. Was yours the 2.5 twin turbo ?

Just been in vw van centre. Had a look at the new transporter....the service guy said oh yes just got the new transit in...sorry mean transporter 🫣🫣
What a limp looking thing. Front end is horrific.
If it wasn't for the dire local ford dealer I'd just get the transit on looks alone!

Pretty obvious what's going on at VW.... obsessed with electric piles of crap and oh let's just rebadge a cult classic with thousands of loyal followers. Bravo.
Oh don't forget the rainbow 🌈 badges as well.

VW vans have always been wankermobiles, not sure why you're surprised?

Now now mr oil 🛢️

Panzer mobiles or not they had a strong following ...just can't figure out why you'd throw a decent brand under the bus....unless of course your organisation is so infested with woke bullshit you are convinced you need to save the planet with bland electric crap .

I was nearly thrown out of a VW Crafter Facebook group when someone stated the Crafter are more valuable than the MAN TGE (same van) because of the premium-brand cache the name carries. They didn’t like it when I stated I’d rather drive around in the MAN than in one of Adolf’s peoples-cars…

The crafters look like the rest of the 4dayaweek twats that clog up the M6 on a Friday from now till October .

Well I have vans with both badges so that cancels eachother out!

I’ve just had a great experience with local MAN dealer….quoted me £2400 for cambelt/waterpump/crank seal and oil service 🤬
