Yeah I think so although does swing quite far to the right. Those B27 were pretty good robust machines to be fair. Wouldn't want to pay more then though for it as pretty old machine now.
absolutely --- 'nother one of those 'ebay created' prices I'd guess - who the hell'd list it at £9,081.72 ?????? :rolleyes:o_O ... I'd be having some comm.s to establish just what he wants for it

Yeah that's the one. Old but doesn't look to have had a hard life. Doesn't look like it's been resprayed.
think we have a few members relatively close to that too

this is old too, but were a bloody good tool - have spent a good few hours in one, when they were 'new'(ish) looks pretty straight/original too even though it's going back - mid/late 80s at a best guess

Thanks for the link. Busy couple of days so I may be a bit quiet, but will be back on it sitting around the pool with a beer on Saturday ......

Don’t worry about the pricing… it’s how eBay does it now with buyer protection. Basically seller sell for free and buyers pay the listing now.. eBay’s way of staying alive .

I didn't notice that. nothing else about it screems 5 gallon overhaul. No paint on any hydraulic ends and everything looks evenly warn. The overspray on the air box seems a bit odd as it doesn't extend to surrounding components. Maybe it's historic or just the bonnet.
I'd noticed it, on the filter housing, fuel line, bonnet rubbers and a little on the silencer - guessed the bonnet had had some ... as said - everything else looks OE - I'd guess that's come down through the bonnet rubbers and gap when the bonnet got some, closed down?

can't have been that bad - none of the hoses or ends have the usual DGAF paint on 'em :giggle:

Looks a little bit on the boom hose covers too if you zoom in.

I far prefer spraying waxoly on rust rather than trying to repaint a machine- unless you're got the facilities and really know what you're doing, it invariably looks worse afterwards.

Nevertheless it currently looks a lot better for his work than a 1.5t machine. Will arrange to have a look at it and report back to you all!

If we're talking about the yanmar it looks a bit rough tbh but prob bombproof and good tool - if it drives decent then would go to France do the job and never loose money.

OK, so I've just been to look over the Yanmar.

It started instantly as a Yanmar TV engine should. It's had a new starter solenoid and ket switch bodged in though.

Slew ring- tight. Very little play side to side on the ring gear either.

Weight on the plate- 3030kg o_O

Bucket pins- as you'd expect. Probably fine for intended use.

Kingpost- Probably less wear than you'd expect on such a vintage machine- sending OP video. It's a big chunky welded kingpost.

Tracks well, pulls to the right very slightly but the left track is very lose and the right tight so may well be this. High speed tracking has been moved to a switch behind the front panel and a hole cut out to access it (this was news to the current owner!)

Plenty of power in the boom, lifted itself easily on a fast tickover. Not so on the blade, maybe three inches off the ground), could be a weak pump section (couldn't really test the slew much where it was) Didn't lift itself on blade much more at full chat either so could be that the relief valve wants tweaking.

Has definitely had a repaint- the new yellow is much darker. It's not terrible, it isn't falling off in sheets at least. The injection pump and other bits of the engine have exceptionally good paintwork- I'd say there's a chance it's had a new engine in the past. The engine oil is clean, owner says he's also done track motors. Diesel filters are full of crud but she ran fine the whole time. Had it running for around 45 mins, no sign of oil leaks on his nice stone driveway. Hydraulic oil is on the sight glass but it looks like an internal tank filter so I was unable to check for any clue as to when it was last changed.

I couldn't get the breaker circuit to activate. I'm not familiar with it- there's a kind of lever behind the left joystick (labelled PTO) that only seemed to move one way, and nothing happened. Is anyone familiar with this? Forgot to get a photo. I can't see how you'd use it in conjunction with the left joystick!

The exhaust rattles, he was trying to tell me it was a loose baffle but you can see it just wants the bracket welding back on underneath. No biggy. The deadman arm doesn’t stay up- probably needs a new spring. Very annoying having to tie it up every time you get out.

It's relatively tight for the age, but it's a very old (1999) machine. It's got a short (by modern standards) dipper, which isn't ideal for lake work. Given that you can get a 2014 ish Hyundai or Bobcat 2.7t with similar/less hours for 13k no vat ( know because I recently sold a 2014 Bobcat E26 for that with under 2000 hours), I think it's overpriced. It also looks to be overweight for a trailer. He seemed keen to sell, hovering around me the whole time. I don't think he's had much interest.

What do you guys reckon?
