three and a half hours to Plymouth, Friday

didn't get away 'til 4.40, after we'd dropped Clara off for her swimmy lesson

... would've been better off having some grub and leaving after six, particularly as all I'd had all day, was a slice of toast .. AND it was Glastonbury weekend.. but she wasn't having it

.. lunch tasted good at half eight

Forces day up on the Hoe Saturday .. red arrows came over at 11.20, flying the whole of the South coast apparently and a few other 'sky sleds' through the day ... not a great deal to see, of interest, anyway ... nice Terex PPM 45AT, but that was about it really ... was particularly struck by how tatty all the military kit looked .. wouldn't have been allowed out the motor pool like it a few years ago.
kids and sprogs (and Pam) wanted to go in the water after and as Pam wasn't fussed on all the sea weed at the water's edge, we ended up in the salt water Lido on the front ... anything below 30C is out of the question as far as I'm concerned

I hid in the shade, having very sensibly opted not to wear shorts for the day .. was scorchio ...I'd've burnt in some order.
saw the bit of the sea wall that Rory was working on a few weeks back .. Mr Baron still has a long reach there on the job.
Rod Stewart was apparently doing a concert in the football stadium that evening and as we were heading for the GF chish and fip shop on the harbour, walked past this and wondered if he might be 'camping out' on it after the show
but didn't think it'd be big enough for Rod's own

... Josh said they rarely get anything of that calibre in the harbour

just googled it and it's owned by James Dicke (??) - valued at $25M

The cod an' chips went down a treat - still catching up on a meal from Friday

Sunday morning was spent on one of J & KM's fave little beaches, where I got me right leg 'lobstered' despite creaming the pair of 'em - go figure - 's only just calmed down

left one was fine

... followed by a 'late-ish' lunch at a very up market 'greasy spoon' type café in a very large boat yard (nicest 'greasy' I've ever frequented) .. food was awesome and had plenty to watch from the roof terrace on top of 'the spoon'
had 3 of those special FLTs that got discussed a while back for boat handling, with the forks that go below the ground level, down into the water .. chassis looked very Hyster-esque .. the masts were in a league of their own
must've pulled 15 out while we were sat there and slotted a good half dozen in ... very busy .... three levels of storage - open air, semi-covered and behind the semi bay in the pix was a huge building for the fully dry storage .. and I mean 'kin big!!
serious money's-worth invested in the yard ... let alone the boats.
then had a 'stroll' (route march) round the area to eyeball a property that J was interested in .. (they're always looking for a 'bargain') / summat to move on to .. called the old coal yard .. fully walled, 60% under steel frame cover 30m water frontage, 30m x 10m of fore shore and about 20m depth from the harbour wall - surrounded by resi.

... fab. potential - sealed bids - guided at £150k -- yeh right

reckon you could double that .. and then start 'the spend' .. on planning and all the rest ... amazing spot though ... if I was 15 years younger

Monday's 'lunch' in town read - coffee and cakes -- Pam wanted to have a wander
but had to collect the eldest from school at three - another route march ... "
's not far " yeh right !! ...... have had the bloody feet walked off me this weekend .. 's alright if you ain't got dodgy trotters

then back to J's for tea at half five, 'fore heading out about 6.15 ..... back in Chez Druid two an' a half hours & 160 miles later. Great run back .. dial 75 and hit the cruise ... new sled went very well..... left here with a full tank and still got just under the half on the gauge, 320 miles later ... will brim it again tomorrow and see how it did .
Treatment was a bit late Monday - like 9.30pm ..
Got up yesterday with a stinking cold

.. kids all day and then a crap night drowning in snot .. got back up at 2.30, came down and slept upright in an armchair .. 'til the sun hit me about eight.
few odds an' sods done then shifted Lil' Jake from in front of me boxes, to have a go at fitting an inlet plug
took a bit of juggling/sorting to get it where it wouldn't foul the switch gear/contactor, which is rail mounted, so very tight to the box back .. got there though
I still like blue/yellow/red... easier than trying to read pissy little numbers on cables and I know that they're L1/L2/L3 on all me 3ph stuff

... no neutral on this motor, sadly - 440V - so no VFD
job done ... kids again tomorrow, or I'd've run it up

finished off after tea with a template, for the missing side plate cover -- would've originally been a fwd/rev switch
bit of polycarb I think - should do nicely
