Need one for Ifor wheel bearings etc, that kind of thing. What do people use? Tonnage? Are cheaper ones with a bottle jack OK for occasional use or are the ones with a side pump and pressure gauge worth the extra?
Get a few thick washers that just fit inside the bearing race in drum weld them in let cool off then a good drift and hammer will knock it out

Sunny tomorrow - crack on!!!
Had a couple of hours this afternoon so tacked the box section sliders to the ends of the “blade”

Then made the top bar where the rams will mount

Got some box section to weld over the stud iron that fits snugly inside the green box so it holds everything square
May have a bit of time tomorrow to finish it

I'd turn those boxes into U,s Mog .... just to guide it .... unless the rams extend in perfect unison it'll jam, but see where you're going with it ....
won't need a lot of daylight between the blade and bottom vee .....
keep the rams as far apart as poss ... of if you have three the same, bang one in the ctr too .....
be amazed how much that beam will flex and not give you a full bend in the middle ...... plus there is always more resistance/spring back in the centre than the edges ;)
should do the job sweet and as long as you don't mind some deformation as you do it might well get your deep zed ... but'll need plenty of space below the vee to get the first bend down for the zed return ........ or are we going U and L and wire/weld together ;)

had a few hours on it this afternoon got a two slice spool valve so can operate the rams individually to get it up and down smoothly, the rams are from an old muck grab that came in the scrap a few years back that I kept, the box section on the ends are from a portacabin👍 the valve and pipes are from a luggage conveyer, the “blade” is a old school rsj (very heavy duty) stud iron from a demo job along with the 12” channel that it’s mounted to.

I’ve only tacked the rams on as they will be pushing, plus I can whip them off when I need them for another project.

So total cost is a few hours of time😀
should be folding mesh tomorrow 🤔

just got to make the die? (bottom bit) not going to use a angle iron in a V shape as it won’t bend 90* when realised (need to over bend stuff) but got an idea on that one😏

Right got a bit of scabby mesh off cut and managed to do this

so in theory it works just need to fit a stop so I don’t over bend it, I know it looks rough but was in a rush to see what it would do a bit of fine tuning and should be grand
if I built another one I would have longer rams so the blade would lift higher to make getting the mesh out easier

I'd still go U and an L Boyo ... will save hours in the bending and give plenty of time to stitch the two together with the MIG .... or just wire 'em ... gonna be buried in conc anyway ;)
