Tow my Neuson 1503 behind my trusty old Disco 2 TD5.
Usual spanner work to keep it going
Best investment was the General Grabbers.....

This is the current front line machine, amongst an few older 4x4s

Really like the NP300, I still like the old D40 that we still have, but the NO300 is an impressive step above the older models (y)
Just realised this is the only pic I’ve got, that day I collected it! :)

The new Navaras are great IMO - I had 3 of the D40s (which I really rated) but the NP300 is better again. Nicer to drive and faster than the competition too IME..,

A Navara that a mate of mine repaired 😆 Apparently Nissan bought it back for 4K!

Yes, I still really rate it, definitely get a demo. I think they are great value for money, particularly if purchased from the right dealer, my local dealer for instance, is not the right dealer! I go a little further afield for a much better deal, prices vary, so shop around.

It’s no secret that the D40 has had chassis issues, Nissan have been buying these failed vehicles back, for well over market value by all accounts, for quite some time now.
But they have recently drawn a line in the sand, and have recalled all vehicles less than 12 years old! My D40 goes in for inspection next week, we will see what happens.
Say what you like about them snapping, and I’m not saying its ok that they are failing, but I don’t think you can really knock Nissan for how they are dealing with it? I mean, vehicles up to 12years old! Now that’s a brave recall!

I’ve seen pics of other brands snapped in half, but maybe not in the numbers that the Nissan has. It’s a shame. Not sure of the recent sales figures, but certainly for a good period during the D40’s production, it was the UK’s best selling pickup, so it’s hardly surprising that they are out there in great numbers, and obviously if you get a reoccurring fault, it then shows up in big numbers.

As I presume you're not going new, I'd say Ranger would give you the best value for money by far.

Pathfinder also has chassis issues. The snapping issue is bad and for the Nissan is due to the chassis but in general pickups are over loaded and towing trailers with far too much nose weight

Yep always liked Toyotas - we are on our third Toyota car
Celica - nannies fast car
Avensis D4D - our every day hack from nearly new
Yaris Hybrid - our current every day hack - absolutely brilliant :)
So the Hilux is still on my short list - love the reliability
It will need to occasionally tow the caravan and take out a few of our 6 grandchildren

Always amazes me that plod/DVSA aren't a lot 'hotter' on pulling obviously over loaded hitches .... max nose is 100kgs .... 50kg on a car .... it's a TOW bar, not a load carrier ..... most if not all couplings have it clearly stated on their plates

Iirc it’s a fair bit higher on my Dmax, possibly 240ish
