From rough memory the disco one would be non electronic, just the mechanical shift cable and the kickdown cable. From crank boss back it's all different, a light plate carrying the starter ring and a fairly chunky boss to centre the torque converter and bolt the flex plate to. In your case you should be able to use the flywheel from the original engine to use the manual transmission.
As an aside the zf torque converter bell housing is really useful to have about as the autobox couples with a circular machined surface so it's possible to use a clock gauge to centre the gearbox to the engine when doing conversions
