People often say to me they don't own machines because it's so cheap to hire- yeah great untill you actually want to do something other than dig!
Exactly!!!

I often considered buying a decent grab and just hiring an 8 ton. But realistically it’s still super handy to have your own, and you could never hire one with a TAB and 600 steels either…

Wasn’t pampass grass a sign of swingers way back when lol 😂
It was a 70’s thing. When I did a bit of landscaping about 35-40 years ago, I couldn’t understand why I was getting asked to get rid of so many of the things. Amazing how quickly they went up with a bit of diesel and a burning rag, even burned the roots out. We have one outside our church hall that I want to get rid of, it’s not exactly sending the right message to people of a certain era.

bit of a story ... many years ago .... Head mechanic for plod's workshops ... sat at home one evening with family watching the box ... eldest (15yr old heller) sat next to a pot full of pampas 'fronds' (like 5ft+ high) 'wondered' if they'd burn -- idly flicked a lighter under them - went up like a roman candle --- Keith had just spent many weeks redecorating the house , top to bottom --- chased the little ****er round the village, 'til he couldn't run any more .... completely trashed the fresh decor in the house .. smoke was something else apparently
Knew his boy, who despite Keith's best efforts, grew up to be a right little c***:mad:

Back on adblue investigation as it was a washout weather wise , there is adblue to dosing unit, supply pipe pressurises when the truck starts, injector nozzle is clear and so is pipe from dosing unit to the nozzle, this would suggest dosing unit problem...

seem to be able to buy a oem unit @ £500 + 50 postage from bison parts (£372 afterarket)

or drop off with dealer for 2k€ plus vat, this is a reconded merc dosing unit not new.

Annoyingly two suitable Intermecato grabs and rotators came up for 3.5k locally a 10 months after I bought mine new. I needed it for the job though.

Maybe a touch more than that with the other bits I've bought

Digger 29.5k
Rotator 4k (can be plumbed for a grapple saw in future though)
Hitch 1.5k
Grapple 3.5k
Tilt bucket and ripper 2.5k
Tracks i think around 3.5, not had the bill yet

So around 45k.

Just need a 5k tilty for her now.... makes that '100k digger' on FB look like the joke it/he is!
What’s the 100k one?

Seen this new old stock one for 66k
