ThIs is what they are fixing normally looks like, but with low water levels this input stream scoured the bank away. Comes in through a tunnel from other valley on a57 tunnels about 2 miles long hand cut back in the day

they must be like trying to lift a blancmange :oops: on strings / ribbons
They’re the welded ones not woven and 5mm not 3mm pretty sturdy with lacing and rods and stone. In some of those pics you can see the bags they use as well big shackle on each one. Be some right straps and shackles knocking around lol

Been having nightmares about this, watching weather like a hawk incase need to remove ours before this as downstream no access to recover stuff

More busman machine spotting in Eastern Europe. Quite a few MAN trucks of this vintage, many with handsome hiabs.

One in action a few minutes down the road. Five tonne digger and a tracked skidsteer out of shot, stoning a footpath round a lovely little lake less than 20k from the city centre.

Pleasing prevalence of skidsteers all round. At least one for every three diggers. Quite a few big backhoes too.

Not too bad here bit of water in but silt fence doing it’s job, engineer ok’d Rock armour after drawing it out for him. Then went to get grab and hunting for some big rocks which is annoying as last 2 big jobs we’ve had tons of them lol. Now buying them in at £25/ton plus delivery

Been messing about tidying up a pond today ...retired engineer bought an old backhoe that was a nonrunner and got her up and running to dig a pond, he struggled( as you would expect) to get a decent finish ready for the gardeners so I helped him get it something like.
He made the bridge and a jib (is that the right word ?) for the backactor so he could swing it in :) will look nice when its finished.
