Playing in the river trying to get coffer dam water tight, 3” hilta diaphragm pump with me bailing with 16 ton 1m3 bucket wasn’t shifting it so now making calls about hiring 6-10” pump if I can or using big rocks instead of Reno mattresses in bottom.

What's the scope of that job? Revetment work using gabions I take it. Would it not be better, easier and nicer looking just to use ruddy great boulders anyway?

Envo agency seem to like gabions at the moment, obviously the metal cages are more environmentally friendly than just natural rock reinforcement placed correctly……

I suggested that 1 year ago when they were designing it and I had a huge pile of massive rocks 5 miles up the valley.

Meeting Friday to look at rock armour instead

What it is, is there is software from the companies who make the cages which can model water flow and such. Ie it’s easy plus it allows a wider range of contractors to price a job if it’s simpler

To design Rock armour and work out the fluid dynamics and sizing takes a bit of thinking not click click job done….

Firm working on reservoir near us using pre filled gabions and bags, easy way to do it.

Probably a stupid question but it's been bugging me since I saw the pics so I'll ask anyway....could you have lined it on outside with visqueen type stuff?
Saw that recently in lakes and on other jobs up here.

we tried but flow is so fast and we have reduced the width so much its roaring even after no rain for few days, can't stand in it currently its moving that fast.

we added the big plates as flow was battering bags

be nice if it was standing water like a lake etc instead its like a 2m wide fire hose

We’ve got these double size bags with tie tops filling them with wetter clay and tying them up then pushing them in holes with 16 Tom behind plates

First time I’ve seen another Euromach 1500m in this country. As the lifted him in I’m not sure why they needed a mini walker, but if they have £1m to blow then why not?

The was one for sale a exac one a few years back, I was interested in it, but missed out, it when quite quickly, stayed in the UK I believe.
