But your comparing it to a TA3 aren't you? I've just bought one myself and seems the skip is quite a bit larger than normal 3 ton/thwaites. Going to make it very easy for me to overload it

Can I ask a big favour actually? Would you mind measuring the width of the TA3 at the wheels? I can find data online of the width but think that's the skip as mine is a straight tip and is I think wider than the wheels. Trying to work out which trailer I need to move it and whether I will be a ble to fit it on a Nugent tipper or have to go flatbed etc..

They don't fit in a 10x5 plant trailer if that helps.

No I knew that but the Nugent tipper is a bit wider. 1800mm I think but suspect the dumper is more like 1900mm. Also probably a bit top heavy on a tipper. Probably best just getting a flatbed for it.

Mine fits exactly on my GX126.. if you have muddy tyres the trailer sidewall cleans them off

Yeah plant trailer would be nicest. But trouble round here is all the little hump back bridge. 2m width is max really otherwise you end up going a lot of diversionsMine fits exactly on my GX126.. if you have muddy tyres the trailer sidewall cleans them off

Got this all up together. New carb and she’s running great. All greased, bits adjusted and various rubber mountings replaced. Now she’s ready to earn just as soon as I get the loler cert emailed over.
This afternoons job is the fix the truck prop after killing it towing a sweeper back. Luckily it didn’t let go until coming in to work today

FFS get a decent truck...Got this all up together. New carb and she’s running great. All greased, bits adjusted and various rubber mountings replaced. Now she’s ready to earn just as soon as I get the loler cert emailed over.

Nah, just ratchet strap holding the prop as you see and engage 4wd.assume you towed that in neutral, from where ever it let go? ... good job it was the back end that did and not the front -- could've been very exciting otherwise

The truck isn't the issue- the lack of maintenance has been. I've let myself down here. As you might tell from the pics of all the machines I service on the nail- my standards have slipped for my main vehicle. Almost done. New prop UJ, oil and filter change, other UJ's greased
rolleyes, making up some Delrin spacers to stop the leaf spring rattle when the air bags are right up. Just a headlight bulb to go. Cambelt kit on order- it's been 40k since the last one (how the miles fly!)I guarantee you I'd have more s**t with a new truck with DPF and Adblue and Lord knows what electric gubbins. Most importantly, if I bought a new truck, I couldn't afford things that actually do the work and bring in the money.

Is that the tipper that's props gone. How much did it cost you buy it out of interest. Got my eyes on a defender tipper- trying to figure out if I can be bothered with it or not- tis very clean.

The Mecalac is of the good old Benford 3000 design. They are old school 3 tonners that will actually carry 3t.
Fyi they also did a 4t, which was basically a 3 tonner with bigger wheels and a 6" wider skip.....
Modern thwaites dumpers and JCB hold literally piss all because the sacrifice capacity for trailerablity...... That said a TA3 will fit on a 12' X 6' I for

I like the ranger tipper for tipping off-road or taking a load of implements and a machine off-road but not really anything else. So cumbersome with the wide body, lack of visibility and it’s on mud tyres. It was £10k with 50k on the clock and very clean, it’s a truck for the next ten years minimum. There was a nice blue 2008 ranger tipper up for sale (£3500) with 76k on the clock recently, but apparently the sills needed welding so the rest might not have been far behind.

Also todays job (and I’m gonna need it today!)- get the shower from the old yard set up and run a hot line from the boiler. So nice to strip, throw all the dirty clothes in the yard washing machine and then shower and go home clean.

If its clean on the underside give it a good pressure clean wire brush the surface rust and the get some Dinitrol ML and spray it everywhere the let it dry off a bit and then spray the chassis and floors with Dinitrol 4941, It really keeps everything in good order. I do all of my classics and I did my old P38 Range Rover it kept it like new wish I had not sold it now!
