Today one of my team said oh god what now, I said what they said you just emailed ……….

They had this… my it guy said if it was a iPhone this wouldn’t show the email and just from my name.

Team replied and asked what’s up , they asked for vouchers to be sent as aparently I’m in a meeting and have no idea how long it will take hence why I can’t talk. Emailed all my team with a email address but did not email info@ so was smart enough

Advertised machines on mascus , to cheap , dodgy pics , phone numbers not matching .

Mascus diddnt seem to bothered . I had regular export boys asking me to buy it for them .

Rang the guy , huge language issue as well as time lag . Blatant scammer imo

Somebody was intercepting a customers email address we was buying a 3cx from..... we got a invoice bank details a no match, i usually do that then call to confirm every time. So called to confirm and indeed the monzo bank on the invocie and all details were wrong.

Inbetween the person "Karen" was sending us emails when we was paying......
managed to get there number and i rekon they have me sussed now as single ticking on whatsapp but they were quite pushy as you would expect.

I know better but the signs were they as they were emailing my ops manager and he diddnt see it, going to have some training. Please do make sure you confirm bank details before sending any money to anybody... Imagine i was naieve to not check. over 60k the payment was for.

i have heard of it, i have seen people do it but i have never quite seen it first hand. Scary

I seem to remember telling you about one of my customers afew years ago..? Lost over 250k in the end! Think we discussed it when I sold you my telehandler… I always get verbal confirmation from the invoice sender/buyer! Bank Account verification helps a lot but isn’t fool proof..

We get quite blasé these days about money , and 2FA does help. We have just signed up for IT Fraud insurance with NFU (we run about 10 computers and a dozen mobile phones) and the list of s**t we have to get sorted to comply with their requirements is quite impressive, and to be honest is a good kick up the arse for us. We haven’t been caught YET but it’s only a matter of time I expect.
We need to have a higher penalty for this kind of problem and an deal with with all countries that we offshore IT to that we have extradition agreements with, otherwise all UK companies should not be allowed to offshore..
