The V8 Diesel in those 70 series is a phenomenal engine. I had the pleasure of one on Fraiser Island many years ago and I remember thinking if only Land Rover had put a bigger engine in the Defender....
I know but seriously...yes big fan of shauno and Graham. Think it's lost it's away a bit these daysGo watch 4wd24/7 on youtube and tell me you don't want to be Shauno!

you don't seriously believe the trip computer or fuel gauge do you?? --Update.
Ford ranger is running around 27mpg at 300 miles still showing half a tank.
That’s about the same as the RAV4. It’s dropped a bit since I’ve been using the heated seats every day.you don't seriously believe the trip computer or fuel gauge do you?? --
brim to brim several times is the only way to get a true average
Kia just tripped 9k and have every receipt with miles per fill recorded --
will have a sit down and work it out shortly
fill to fill has been returning between 34-38mpg, but it does a lot of short hops
the couple of good runs it has had have been very good![]()
LOL - dittoThat’s about the same as the RAV4. It’s dropped a bit since I’ve been using the heated seats every day.
Do heated seats chew more fuel? Just bought a 3.5l petrol car. Other half doesn't do a lot of miles so not too fussed on mpg and wanted petrol so short journeys don't kill itThat’s about the same as the RAV4. It’s dropped a bit since I’ve been using the heated seats every day.
Gra, I don’t believe trip computers, official figures, or Caravan Club members figures. I can remember years ago caravanners saying they could get over 40 mpg out of a Defender or Disco while towing.
Not something we often think about, but there’s no such thing as free electricity in a car, any EV driver will tell you about the range hit with the lights, etc. Same with a proper non-milk float vehicle, you burn fuel powering the lights, demister, heated seats, etc., it all adds up.Do heated seats chew more fuel? That's almost 10 mpg more than me so I'd say that was very good in Devon65 litres - 385 miles..... 10% loaded trailer
Got lots of towing today so didn't want to chance it, but still had 15l in tank in theory
yeh but he's only towing his sandwich box back and fore to collegeThat's almost 10 mpg more than me so I'd say that was very good in Devon
I also have the wind resistance of hy hair which cancels any weight saving outyeh but he's only towing his sandwich box back and fore to college![]()
