Running a lorry isn't that expensive in that respect.

Depending on what I'm doing (or where I'm working) my grab does 10 to 14mpg. And the 3.5t iveco does 19mpgs.

It's been around since it was new in 2018... I've never owned it yet. First the local hire shop who I'm friendly with. Then my tenant.. I am probably going to buy it next though.

Trip computer on the transit is fairly accurate i have to say.... ive tried it both ways

Most of mine are , had one that was wildy optimistic, then once the turbo was replaced it became accurate again. Assume an inaccurate sensor got replaced which changed the readings / calculations

You cannot use a dash guage to calc fuel consumption. They just don’t have the accuracy. Brim to brim / miles is only way .

I know, I worked it out in my head as I was driving so I'm not expecting it to be on the dot... but even if I'm out 50% that is crap.

I will work it out on the next full but not got any towing to do for a while (thankfully!)

Really unimpressed after today. First time towing and first motorway run, struggling up inclines at 45mph.

Good town truck basically but the engine is crap. Would have preferred the 3l but they're rare.

They aren't the most amazing engine but if yours is out of warranty it can be chipped. The same engine in the dmax is 175hp.
They also have to be run at high revs which takes a lot of getting use to after driving older bigger diesels.
