How do the bore hole ones do, we did one for a camp site wash block 80m in limestone, does water and underfloor with 8 showers 8 sinks etc for 100 people camp site.
@JD450A has hit the nail on the head.Biggest issue is the plumbers that bang them in tend to be s**t....... Did I say that, opps
Trouble is a lot of the installers are bigger outfits out to make big money off the job.@JD450A has hit the nail on the head.
Plumbers bang them in. You need a heating Engineer to install these. You get what you pay for!!![]()
And that will get worse now there is free money available to the gullible.Trouble is a lot of the installers are bigger outfits out to make big money off the job.
think bore hole would be my choice for ground source ... deeper you go the more consistent the source is, from what I've readHow do the bore hole ones do, we did one for a camp site wash block 80m in limestone, does water and underfloor with 8 showers 8 sinks etc for 100 people camp site.
absolutely .... all sorts of historic examples ..... this £5k thing is purely for replacement of faulty/failed gas boilers by air source heat pump systems ... there'll be some bullsh1t spread about to get ppl on board, for sureNever got involved in the “green” side of plumbing and heating. It does seem whenever grants are being handed out, it’s hoovered up by either large companies or fly-by-night limited companies.
hardly surprised by that TBH ... from what i read air source is most successful (if you can call it that) when the entire house is built around the system and massively insulated - almost passive. ... Retro fit to older properties is a nightmare, just trying to get the insulation levels up to a suitable level, to keep the meagre heat generated, inMy house had air source but 3 year ago I scraped it and put oil boiler back In![]()
spot on Mart ....if you like a warm home forget it they will never generate the same heat as oil or gas and cost a lot in electric to run
set fire to the neighbour's house and stand round warming yer handsProb a bit ott ladsthink you'll find on new stuff correctly insulated their ok...
Trouble us we all live in drafty old cottages
But seriously what's the option if greenies ban oil, gas, coal and logburners? Curry every night and big blankets?![]()
Drill 90m deep normally does it down here don't need to dig miles of trenches then and wet at the bottomWorks well if done right.
Get the full length runs in.... Works better in waterlogged ground too.
How deep into the water level do you need to go?Drill 90m deep normally does it down here don't need to dig miles of trenches then and wet at the bottom
problem is the money allocated will do around 90000 installs ,there are around 25 million gas boilers in this countrysee they have a £5k grant campaign on ATM to try to get ppl to replace knacked gas units with air source heat pumps ......![]()
is it working well? How deep into the water level do you need to go?
We had a water bore hole done.
Hit water at about 25m & it then rose to about 15m.
Drilled to 50m to give good reserve.
Pump sat at about 30m depth.
The water bore hole?is it working well?
Sorry. I thought it was for a ground source heat pump!!The water bore hole?
Yes it gives us as much water as we need & more.
