Whats the end goal on that tight site Rory ? Is it an extension ? Theres a lot of work happening to create a bit more space on the site .
So the pinning in the picture , is that redundant ? What’s going on inside the building ?Basically the retaining wall that was there was condemned by structural engineer. (nae comment) And thus needed replacing.
Test holes where done, confirming solid rock behind the wall and thus a design was planned to take out 1m sections and replace........ It wasn't rock so now we are there![]()
Building is a different siteSo the pinning in the picture , is that redundant ? What’s going on inside the building ?
might as well fall on your sword at the interview ..... some one is going to want your balls at some point ..... might as well advertise the job as "Wanted - Scapegoat for the biggest **** up in history"Something they need “real “ people to apply for:
Search for new HS2 chairman relaunched after few apply
THE Government has “relaunched” its search for a new chairman of HS2 after fewer than 30 people applied for the role described as a “poison chalice”.
The job, which pays £200,000 a year, has remained vacant for more than six months following the departure of Allan Cook in July.
According to Freedom of Information documents, the Department for Transport received fewer than 30 applications for the role, only five of which were taken forward.
The Daily Telegraph understands that ministers did not think the applicants up to the task, and are holding out for the “perfect” candidate who is willing to complete the beleaguered project.
HS2 has been dogged by setbacks and overspending since it was announced over 10 years ago. Costs have spiralled to as much as £100 billion, according to some estimates, with opposition from across the political spectrum, as well as from climate activists.
Andrew Stephenson, the HS2 minister, said: “We’ve relaunched our search with new criteria designed to ensure we recruit the best and brightest candidate, ready to take on this challenge and drive forward transformation across the nation.”
Perfect opportunity to put an outlier in the role. Someone with experience and balls of steel with experience of running their own outfit. Not some jumped up corporate twat.Something they need “real “ people to apply for:
