Could it have a slab of steel fitted under the the back, rather than trying to fit it in between the counterweight and the upper frame?

That was my suggestion, 500kg removable slab.... man didn't take me seriously until I suggested we ratchet strapped the JCB astra to the back for more ballast :ROFLMAO:

How much heavier than the standard mono boom counterweight is the LR weight currently?

Out on mine again today.

A mate stripped a site for me Monday. Several land drains and a wet week meant that today we put a ditch in. Lots of groundwater so the foundations will be a interesting dig!

Also selling my Hammermaster 260

1t at full stretch inline with tracks.

To be very blunt she needs another 500kg - 1t on the counterbalance to be safe however. Whilst she can handle 1t at full stretch it's a fairly optimistic figure and i'd be of the opinion that any slight incline and your buggered. (I'm talking about requiring a piling mat level of flat). JCB have been told this so watch this space ;) I am hopefully they will find some pig iron like a teletruk or a 3cx eco and smelt it down into a nice slice ;)

Kokurek would sort you a slab to bolt straight on the underside and if needed a pair of Cheek weights Rory and there stuff is pretty good.
Without a doubt they will/can.... Be nicer if JCB do it themselves as a refinement of the product though. IMHO they have nailed it with this machine, few tweaks would just finish it.... Not expensive tweaks either, I reckon £1000 worth of little modifications would make it truly something special!

Dry day.... Make progress, it would be nice to seal the topsoil heap but the material is already wet and sitting on it will only make it worse. The subsoil is also fairly damp.... I expect digging footings will be interesting..... Might palm that off to @Danny haha

I expect tommorow to be a washout. We shall see. Might get a chance to fix something!

Yes, but to be expected for the time of year.

Swivel is Key. Standard tip T/D's are a waste of time, will churn the ground up for a past time and eat undercarriages, particularly on short hauls.

We where averaging around a ton a minute on a 100' haul today..... it will shift fairly well if you setup right.

Absolutely Rory .... as we were discussing the other day ..... spragging 'em about makes such a mess ... straight lines and swivel'll keep the site in a much better state
