current state of the road up the Grwyne Fawr road ('bout 4 miles from us) -- there were leccy cables running up the side of the road (Can just see the tarmac/road if you look hard )

Yeah wind has picked right up herehad a troll up the Grwyne Fawr road this afters - get out the house for an hour and pick up some milk en route ..
took a few pix of the devastation ...
most places still have gennies running outside courtesy of national grid
must be 30 years since I was last up there ..
used to ride up in the forestry and on the Blacks most Sundays, if there wasn't an event on anywhere locally.
some bloody big bits of timber scattered about.

South Westerly here though ... all that damage was a NWesterly / WNWesterly which we seldom get here ... basically tore down the valley from the dam - lot of those trees were 2+ft in diameterYeah wind has picked right up here
