I doubt where I live is far of most of inhabited parts of the lakes tbh. On a par with Ambleside a cording to the met as a average statistic. We have twice the annual rainfall compared with Plymouth 15 miles away which is a sobering statistic when Plymouth is in the top ten wettest cities in uk. I'm going to invent a game- it's going to be called Top Trumps- wettest shitholes in the Uk. Watch out for me on dragons den.Try living in Lancashire then.
The only amusement is watching folk who've spent a fortune on a holiday in the lakes get absolutely bombed on

Always thought decent weather down your neck of woods...
Just looking back last march we were already extracting timber across back field...not a chance this year unless by hovercraft!

I’ve been working in Skelmersdale - last week it was a bog, sunk to the top of the tracks constantly. It’s dried out amazingly this week and can now stay on top in the clean!

Always crap after a week of decent weather. Yesterday was mint. Kid got half an acre of grass rolled which was unthinkable a week ago.not been too bad here today, 'til this evening .. as Bob says,the week looks half about....
