Im probably going to come across as a bit of a wanker (im sure i often do ) but I don't get this heat thing ..true you dont get the same amount done but we just pace ourselves accordingly 👍
I'll bet most of the rest of Europe, America and the rest of the world are pissing themselves at the fuss the UK media AND politicians are making about two warm days ..... pure propaganda for 'global warming' and why they're taxing the **** out of us :mad::mad::mad:

Far too hot, we tossed it off by 2 doing 6-11 tomorrow then giving up for the day, 12v cooler in truck with lots of drinks. We’re in shade first thing but then courtyard became an oven. Home and in paddling pool
With little, saw a fire on way back though.
's what we did in '76 ..... and that went on for months

Makes me laugh when they bring climate change into it at every opportunity and tell us we need to change how we live. Better idea get themselves over to China and change what they're doing would be a bigger start.

You're a bunch of miserable old gits :ROFLMAO: They've got huge problems with this heat in Europe too.
Loving the pool in the polytunnel Routy (y) It was 42 in mine today with doors open at both ends, hit 30 odd even up here on the Pennines. If water levels weren't so low I would have filled the skip on the dumper and got in that :ROFLMAO:
New records set in Wales and the NE today with even more to come tomorrow.
Supposed to be pointing the house, but too hot so took these down to the clough at the bottom of the hill here:

Well it was fun wading around in the water, but found bugger all gold 🙈

I was surprised to find a brown trout in there though:

Yeah I know, it could be the Loch ness monster or a slug, but I caught it anyhow. As there was no gold I did some stream clearance by pulling out the stones from the centre and putting them at the sides to stop erosion. Then decided to build a dam for the fish and a bridge for walkers to get across:

Done enough, went home, fell asleep.

you do realise you've probably completely destroyed an entire micro-ecosystem, moving them few rocks :p:ROFLMAO: and possibly upset the whole cosmic balance

A few years back when we had all those mountain/moorland fires, a large local plant hire firm, who have premises up the offered to contain the fire by cutting fire breaks, and the AONB didn't want them damaging habitat, the fires spread and burned for weeks

That's what I was thinking, it's been hot today but nothing like they were saying it was going to be.

I doubt it'll be any hotter than anything we've had before, just be usual media hype
3 records broken already, one in the NE, one in Wales and the latest is the whole of the UK. The record for the highest temps ever recorded here was smashed even before lunchtime.

We've had so little rain here, our only real water supply - the borehole is actually showing signs of running low and no real rain forecast.

Our thermometer in the yard shows 44 here in Kent, Tonight its dropping to 21 although we may get rain at around 9pm so the met office shows. Classic cars are out and roofs are off!
In the past we have been at The Royal Welsh show with our horses am glad we are not there today, That place by the show rings soaks up the heat, but if you are down that way it's superb and well worth a visit.

Yep - it’s not work if you enjoy what yer doing ☺️
If that ‘test pan’ had found some shiny stuff then I doubt you would post it on this forum 😉
However, someone might spot a few 720s, rock trucks and wash plant trundling up the valley 🤣
