And I was right. Complete wet fart as far as the "storm" goes. The Met office consistently get it wrong imo. All the billions of pounds of investment and they can't even predict a storm right. Wasting people's time and money with their inaccurate forecasting.

some bird on a news prog . last night virtually screaming the sea had just ''breached'' the sea wall, behind her, when all it was, was a wave breaking over the sea front, some where and not even spectacularly ..

A very wet and windy drive to Calais this morning after a few days away at Center Park in Holland. At one point I pulled in behind a convoy of trucks doing 40mph. I couldn’t see the cab of the lorry due to the spray….from the other carriageway!!
I ended up about 10 cars back as every car that tried to past……bottled it like me!!!

been wild here today ... just been out and put the patio sofas back to where they started from - - a couple of feet away - - covers on them have been acting like parachutes - good job I secured them to the furniture legs, or they'd have been miles away ... I was down the Gower this morning kneeling in someone's garden servicing a waste tank compressor for an hour, wind and rain howling, packed up wiped tools down got out of van and it stopped!

Best day of the week so far here... windy and some drizzle but the majority of it just blew past today.

Every other day it has started raining the second I step out the door, today was the opposite.

I know a few of the guys on the emergency tree surgeon gangs for the council. They have been absolutely flat out since lunch time yesterday. Doesn't sound like big stuff just an aweful lot of little stuff on the roads. They where out all night and said it did get bad but as most people where asleep they wouldn't notice.

As the trees are still in leaf I’m sure there are some down. I’ve been on the road approximately 10 hours today and seen one council tree gang cutting back an approximately 4 inch fallen branch. Plenty of twigs and leaves, but not staying at home weather, especially for people who work indoors.
My point about the met office was more that there was a blanket warning for Southern England not to go out as it would be so bad. I hear the Channel Islands got hit bad and you say your local area has suffered, but I’m old enough to remember the 87 storm and that was in a totally different league.

the morning after that storm my parents landed in Dover after a holiday in France/Europe and said it looked like a war zone.
My mate Martin (who died in the glider accident, a while back) was still on the saws back then and he was still clearing up several months later ... local hospital lost over 40% of its trees in their grounds ... Mr Fish ****ed up in a big way that night

I think it's a bit different as the high winds seem pretty regular now so we don't end up with a stock of trees waiting to come down.
I saw them this morning and they where on the second grab lorry of debris picked up of the road and 3vans out stacking stuff on the roadside ready for the lorry. The lorry will be out for the next week just picking up debris.
