No moaning going on about the weather lately? :D
It's been overall cold recently here in the Wild West which is no surprise for March, some warm days when the sun came out, but no real rain for at least 3 weeks now and the land is drying out well. A bit of rain due Sat through Sun, but nothing heavy.
Complete contrast to last year at this time when we were just getting over being snowed in with lots of heavy rain and storms.

I'm going to make a guess/prediction/hope it's going to be a fairly good year for weather, we're due some after the previous two cold and wet ones.
Fingers crossed....

anyone watch the Thames Water docu. last night?
how can a company as small as (in the general scheme of things) TW run up debts not far short of the entire country's debt????????:unsure::oops::oops::oops: (aside from giving all profits out in dividends to share holders) - should be made/compelled by statute, to spend a min. of 90% of profits on improving their services and decaying/outdated/dilapidated infrastructure!!

Yeah the last 3-4 weeks have been bliss for work- a bit cold and blowy but proper working weather. Done a whack of work and actually find myself with a few days spare before starting next job- love it!

SW 50mm lol there was 200mm forecast here for last 24ish hours. I don't buy into rainfall figures they quote here now for some reason they moved a rain gauge from Seathwaite the wettest place in the country to the top of honister pass just up the road from Seathwaite. The thing i can't figure is why you move something that's been in one place for probably 100 years unless you're trying to fudge figures after spending millions on flood defences which will not work.

will need to spend a lot more ... all over the place the way the weather's going

" The government has produced a list of more than 1,000 flood alleviation schemes to be carried out England over the next year "

Funny I've not noticed many trails in the sky last week or so!
well this was a change from the usual 14+, first thing this morning (06.52) ... rest of the sky was totally clear/devoid of any vapour/con trails and plenty of other aircraft in the sky
WP_20250401_06_52_46_Pro.jpg

was shocked to find frost on the car's windscreen at half seven .. looked like heavy dew, 'til I tried to wipe it away with the wipers .. none anywhere else that I saw -- thermometer on the wall showing 5C at 07.20

From a personal Pov this weather is awesome. I've got crops in a whole month earlier than last year, that's a huge difference.
Arable farmers already complaining it's too dry though, they need the usual rain to take the fertilizer down into the soil.
No rain on the horizon either.
