It was lovely and dry yesterday when I dropped the digger off , now it's slippery on the surface. Was going to be terracing a hillside garden today 😡

shirt sleeves here yesterday afternoon ... grey day today - 14C, but trying to spit rain since yesterday evening - enough to feel it on your face but nothing really ... forecasting snow for Weds. FFS

Beautiful day again but just gone overcast and cooler now.

Can't get out of work M6 gridlocked so an hour two in the workshop instead of bothering to get out of the yard . Absolute joke took one girl 15 minutes to do 200 yards 😄. Wagon on central reservation at midday still shut now.

been over to Ross this morning, 'shopping', then on down to Russ's place to meet him and the Lieb. for a quickie in Ross sewage treatment plant ...
bloody roads closed all over the place on my normal cross country route and again going into Ross, which I don't know particularly well, so was well PO-ed -
knew where I was going from my normal route into town -
completely bloody lost trying to find where i was headed from the diversion route ..
pr*cks were sending artics round side streets and I had my 10 x 5 on the back of the Kia , so squeezing into gaps was not easy when you met a 40 footer oncoming ...

absolute carnage

Still shut!
Absolute carnage going north in Lancashire today folks don't bother.

They recovered the wagon yesterday afternoon.
Now they state barrier repairs ongoing. Wtf do you need a full closure for barrier repair? Took one lad 2.5 hours to do 4.5 miles last night.

Were there fatalities?

Not as far as I can tell.
Just said driver was treated. That was midday yesterday. Single wagon.

Obviously must have been some resurfacing but all sorted when I came through at 7am.

Does it need time to cure? Highways not saying anything

It’s absolutely mental - they need to start including consequential loss and local-road-network incidents into their risk assessments before entirely shutting motorways.

Aye, it's turned quite cold now compared to last week due to the wind coming from the East. Still barely any rain about and not much forecast which is a bonus. Vague threat of minor snow flurries Weds/Thurs/Friday, but nothing to be worrying about.

when my old man was on traffic they measured up with a tape if needed, photographed it, then got the road cleared and open as a matter of priority ..... none of this laser scanning every last ****ing detail including how many blades of grass were damaged ... less than zero sense these days and even less consideration of the implications of having a major road closed for any longer than is actually really required ...... jobsworths mostly

Had the lot today, sleet, hail, rain, cold, warm sun 😆
Luckily only bad in short bursts- before the third time packing the tools away out the rain I thought sod it, I'm finishing this section and stopping for lunch. By the time I'd finished whatever I was doing (5 or 10 minutes tops) the sun was back 😆 🤣
