Sounds cheap enough . I paid £8.3K for Dmax on 103k. That was 6 years old then same as yours. Hope yours is as good for you as ours. In fairness it’s only done about 15k since as it’s not anyone’s daily, but been completely faultless. Changed the battery last year and apart from annual servicing that’s it.Pickups prices are mad both new and used. I'm not convinced alot of the used ones asking big money are actually getting it though
My Navara was £9500 plus vat, 2019 with 100k easy miles on it. I put a new set of grabbers ATs on it and had to get a tow bar fitted but all told I felt it was good deal given it's condition. There are some asking £12-15k in worse condition and older.
@Russell Nearly went down the route of doing up my old hi cap before Rory had it off me. But because I'd get someone else to do the work I could easily chuck £10k on re chassis- ING it and still be left with a truck with 190k miles and 25 years old so just didn't add up for me but probably different story if doing the work yourself, but even and old base vehicle will be 5-6k and have to spend the same again in it to get it up to scratch I reckon![]()
They start at 30k + vat now but23k for a Dmax when I was looking in 2021
I did the chassis rebuild thing with the disco but that was £1700 for the base vehicle. As you say defenders cost more to start with and a galv bulkhead is 2k on top of chassis, doors are 300 ,diffs 1k each, tbox 1k, gearbox 2k and engine 5k.Pickups prices are mad both new and used. I think thats the key. If your not going to be putting mega mileage on them (I only do 6k a year) then it pays to get a fairly young one with high mileage as usually motorway miles but knocks alot of value off.Sounds cheap enough . I do most mileage ferrying the grandkids about to and from school/nursery -- done about 10k in the Kia in two an' a half years (oh and the odd distance run out 'toy' shoppingWhen my kids were at primary school and nursery it used to be 6000 miles a year just going back and forth for that.
Well that's averaging 25 miles a day, 5 days a week. 48 weeks a year. Rare I work more than 12 miles from home, often only a few miles away so just doesn't really mount up much! How on earth do you keep milage so low? My wife's car does more than that and she only works 3 days a week in the next village over
He rarely works these days, prince of Finland believe it or not.How on earth do you keep milage so low? My wife's car does more than that and she only works 3 days a week in the next village over
That's gotta be darkside
you could reply to him with the fact that there are only eleven Renault 16s left on the UK roads
My mate has one, tried to buy it off him but wasn't having any of it.
Without helpers it will always sit low, just how it is with rear coil springs. The only thing you could check would be nose weights but I'll be honest no idea how to successfully do that, I get the principle with a caravan but always seems aimed at a single axle so not sure how that translates to combination that's over double weight with another one or two axlesSo first time towing with the Navara. As you can see weight is as far back on the trailer as I can get it couldn't get a sheet of paper between the counterweight and the tailgate and its still on its arse, so thought to add these bolts to the tail gate clamp to allow more clearance and shunted the machine back another inch. It's still on its arse and only got about 100kg of tools in the back!!
Thats a Navarra.., my mates did that from brand new... especially with KX027 and flail and few buckets on🫣So first time towing with the Navara. Yep. with rear cointerwieght machines your limited to positioning. It towed and traveled fine and didn't feel heavy on the hitch but definitely looks like an invitation to be pulled over.Thats a Navarra.., my mates did that from brand new... especially with KX027 and flail and few buckets on🫣
