You'd need some serious bad luck to get tugged in @Storrsy neck of the woods 🤣

Flippin bridges are hardly wide enough for a car let alone an ifor 🙄

I got a quote to uprate one of mine to 3.5T from svtech ,seemed happy enough to do it.
Didn't think it was possible or at least wasn't at the time I was looking at one, due to the handbrake, not sure why handbrake would be an issue.
Just looked on the darkside site 3.5t tow is possible but can't get the gtw above 6.4t so 2.9t pulling 3.5t or vice versa. From what it says on their site they ditched trying to get 7t gtw

I've only ever had an issue with traction whilst towing once, the car in front slowed down for some random reason on an uphill corner, I had to hook first gear and she spun up. And it is a bit scary especially with traffic right behind you! Grabbed the 4wd switch and sent it! She made it fine but was a bit hard to get back out of 4wd when I found a layby to pull over in.
With decent tyres and some pace its never a problem.
Where I really miss the landrover is in its stability, engine breaking downhill and the ability to use low range to shunt around, especially reversing around a corner uphill - the nemesis of a pickup with the tow bar a fair way behind the axel!
But in every other regard, the Navara is a great daily vehicle. I've done the hot pipe twice (it still leaks a little) and cleaned the EGR pipe out as it got blocked. Also had a NOX sensor go. But all in all, that's fair I think for a 7yo truck that works for a living.
Its got to last another few years yet until someone works out a way around these BIK rules. Mine's good under the old rules until 2029 - it will be well due a replacement by then!
And I still have the old Landrover.... apart from appreciating sitting on the drive, its always ready to start and do a job if the modern car has a hissy fit I cant solve. And might just be an option to run going forward. At £45k for a new pickup, I could buy an old landrover or discovery and completely overhaul/ upgrade it for that. And apart from turning down any work near London (which would be a bonus to be honest) it would be cheap to run, easy to fix and back to reliable motoring. Its tempting....
The only thing I like about modern cars is cruise control, air conditioning and apple car play. Everything else is worse than an old discovery was back in the day!
