How do the diy or smaller customers make these pay? I can get rid of grab load for 150 then have a load of recycled on same lorry say 255 for good quality crushed concrete. That's 400 per 15t. Every time I've looked the hire, transport and labour to load kills these. What kind of quantity do you need to make it pay to hire?

Luckily I have my own machines and yard space so to save on grab lorries and skips I used to tip it all in the yard and crush it once a year say £500 for a day including crusher and myself then I have plenty of hardcore kicking about. I get paid to take it away so I might as well re use it

Now these are something special😎, spent quite a bit of time looking round these at the show last year, didn’t get to actually see it working, but they were playing a video at the front of it working in different environments, and then changing the shafts etc, went on for about 20 minutes. Very little time to change them from one to the other, very compact and light weight for what it could do.

Don't complain - suggest what's better
Using a shredder is definately an alternative way to go to a jaw crusher. Clever way of trying to sort smaller site crushing. Don't have the problems with bunging up on soft stuff either.
Don't know what the wear is like but from you tube videos it is amazing what shredders will destroy.

That was the a second set of shafts for softer stuff, the one for concrete and the like had replaceable tips like the MMD crushers....they were the set that was in it at the time.

Will try and find a video of them working Gra, was certainly enough to make me stop and do a bit more looking into it.
that is some drive on the end of those shafts

This is how the shafts get changed, if I remember the owner at the show said you should have it done with if 20mims, with the right set up.

Is that 20 mins when new and 20hours after it is covered in dust, bent and twisted after several hundred tonnes of rubble dropped through it!

If it bent and twisted that easily, they wouldn’t sell them or make those claims, or even get to several hundreds tonnes of rubble and the like put through it, just have a look through YouTube and see how some of them are put to work.

I’m not convinced how quickly/easily that side panel will go back on once it’s seen a bit of use - it didn’t want to come off in a hurry....

Having dealt with fixed versions of those shredders/pulverises before I'm quite certain they work. But I will also say that the running costs are far greater than that of a Jaw Crusher, along with the fact that they tend to only put out one size and that is "random" 0-100mm.

In soft gear they will tear out more lumps... Hard gear they will create more fines. Yes they will satisfy for on site processing but they won't produce a consistent product like a jaw crusher will. Same as a Impactor/Hammer Mill.....
