The only thing I did not see mentioned is that the receiver will work with the cross line laser dead handy when setting out you can leave the receiver on its side on on the mark your trying to hit then go to the laser and adjust it without keeping having to go back to check your mark 👍👍

I'd tell trip to keep the receiver from his current setup as it dead handy having 2

Ordered the Fukuda FRE-203XR kit this morning, looking forward to it arriving (y)
That’s what I bought last year, great bit of kit, although my receiver has been playing up. Looks like water has gotten into it. I’m fancying one that tells you how far out you are, be easier for the labourer to work out what’s going on 😂

Definitely get the digital display on the receiver. If it up 2 or up 20 can make a big difference to what you're willing to do about it. 😆
We have two laser levels, one Lecia rugby and one topcon. I go for the Lecia every time.

Receivers with digital read out are brilliant save so much time
Can zero it one end of a pipe and use it to quickly set the grade
Can stick it on a 18in square of plywood and let it float around as you poor concrete to save someone on the staff
And a whole heap of other things

Hi,

I am sorry to hear you seem to be having an issue with your core function detector in the FRE-203XR.
If you submit an RMA here: https://www.laser-level.co.uk/suppo...ng/send-product-for-repair/submit-repair.html, return the detector to us, and then the service team can assess it.

One option would then be to pay the difference between the original detector and the FRD-800R shown here:
https://www.laser-level.co.uk/fukuda-frd800r-detector.html

and then you would be able to have a Detector with the mm / inch display.

Best regards

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Morning guys.

Hope all are well.

In terms of simple to use Horizontal only rotary lasers, here are two suggestions...

If the price is key, then go for the Fukuda FRE-205 DUO Kit:
https://www.laser-level.co.uk/fukuda-fre-205-duo-laser-kit.html

The Fukuda FRE-205 is a fully self-levelling, has an accuracy of ±3mm @ 30m, rechargeable, horizontal only laser level with a range of 500m diameter. It also has the ability to set slopes and gradients in both the X & Y axis.
It is mainly aimed at the general ground worker but also includes a small cross line laser for internal applications. This can also be removed from the kit.

At the time of writing the cost is £515.99 inc vat.

If you are after a heavy-duty workhorse type laser, the go for the premium brand Spectra LL300N Kit:

https://www.laser-level.co.uk/ll300n-rotary-laser-spectra-ll300n-premium-kit.html

It is a full self-levelling red beam rotary laser which levels on the horizontal. It is accurate to ±2.2 mm at 30 m, range of 500m, has an IP rating of IP66 (Dust tight / Protected against powerful jets of water) and a 5-year warranty. It is rechargeable but can also run on alkaline batteries.

At the time of writing the cost is £575.99 inc vat.

However, if you want to do sloped and gradients you need to add the RC601 remote to the kit which then makes the price: £689.99 inc vat at the time of writing.

Hope this helps,

Mark Roberts

Hi Mark, thank you for the offer. I’m pretty sure it’s my own fault though, it’s been out in the rain pretty much constant the last week or so. I’m thinking I might need a fully waterproof one 😂 What would you recommend?

Hi Brendan,

I am sorry to say it isn’t.

With the exception of the rear mounting bracket and the AA batteries there are no other replaceable parts.

Hi,
If you require a high IP rated Detector the Spectra HL450 is a good option as it is IP67
(Dust tight / Protected against the effects of temporary immersion) and will fit in the case ok.

You can see it here:

not forgotten this .... the weather has knackered Reo's progress this week ... been rained off most of the week ... should be here tomorrow ... if it stops raining and'll try and sort out what he fancies ... gonna be too late for a pre-crimbo delivery though I'd guess ... not as that'd be an issue, I doubt
Looking at the two links, if it was my choice I think it'd be this - Fukuda FRE-205 DUO Laser Kit - Laser Levels Online - The Laser Level Specialists (laser-level.co.uk) with the Fukuda FRD800R detector at £649.18 ... looks the best VFM to me

Hi,
The Fukuda FRE-205 kit with the upgraded FRD800R is a great horizontal rotary and is perfect if budget is key.
We close on Wednesday 23rd but up until that point, delivery is next working day by DPD if ordered by 3:45pm each working day.
From the 23rd delivery will then be after the 4th of Jan.

Best regards

I never even thought about a new one fitting in the case. Would the HL700 fit in the case? I see it has a backlight on the display.

Hi,
From memory, It would be a very snug fit as it is ever so slightly chunkier than the HL450.
I have to visit the office over the weekend so I will check and confirm.

I'll hopefully get it sorted tomorrow .... how do you prefer payment?
glad to see you use DPD .... got a good bloke on our area and always gets here
Yodel are a bloody nightmare/joke

as for budget .... Reo'll probably not use it from one month to the next ... but does like his toys to make life easier .... but is not into mega-hi-tech ... so I reckon it'd be perfect for him ;)

Hi,
Sadly, I have not had a chance to get into the office this weekend- the joys of toddler childcare 🙁

However, I will get one of the team to check first thing Monday and then report back.

Sorry for the delay.
