Got her back up and running

Been using it on the farm job last week and this week trenching along putting heat exchanger pipes in for caravans

Then hit this in my trench line

Have come across an adit for a mine with only a meter cover holding roof of it up

Well been busy as usual but have managed in my spare time to finish the hot tub
Other half probably kill me for this pic but she don't look at this forum I had jumped out as eldest wanted to go in and use his snorkel mask

Not worried about the ground around shafts it's the ground over other side of site that is stoped nr to surface

R6 13-20 0.9cube 1.260kg would have had the r7 but discontinued for the R8 and that's 1.700kg bit too much for our 18 ton hitachi

Thought it looked big but never mind that having looked again you must have had the fourtrak wrapped in cotton wool a few year to still be here. Tin worm not kind to them.

It's fingers crossed for mot Monday might be it's last I used to work for daihatsu when I left school and used to service this one before we bought it it's done well considering the salt air down here good truck they are shame Toyota stopped them being made

Yeah with a bit of Toyota put into them they could have been a real good tool. Shame especially when you consider no more defender they would have had a whole market to themselves.

Toyota didn't want to do the engine for emissions an due to having their own 4x4 range it got pulled in 2000 this is an X reg so one of last few ,we sold loads of them to farmers that wanted something more reliable than a defender but could still tow 3.5 ton

We had to take body off one that had flipped towing a large boat so our body shop could fix it while we did a new complete crate engine change on it
The guys from body shop took it to fill it up with some fuel and cooked the new engine
Was a bit of head scratching happening till we found that the 2 cooling pipe were taken off the engine and not the rad so was put back how it came off with pipes attached to rad still but never noticed from new the bottom rad hose clip wasn't done up and we must have broken the seal removing/refitting it so one crate short motor later

I always thought if they coil sprung them put landcruiser axles in and 3.0 engine they'd have wiped the floor with everything as far as a farm truck goes. Unfortunately such vehicles don't have the profit in them for a big manufacturer to bother.

Yeah i had a w reg for about 6 years so aware of that. But they were due a big upgrade to keep them up to date and Toyota clearly didn't see the point despite the fact they had all the parts in production to do it.

We first day back started well pulled off the collapsed mine shaft cap excuse the mining chaps mug his forward facing camera on his phone is broke

Next was make it safe to go down so removed any lose rocks around edges that formed the stone collar that failed

Then the team turned up and rigged up the digger to go down and investigate any possible workings off of the shaft

Once they had come up a discussion on what type of fix was worked out and turns out we can do a raft slab fix to make good
So 2m all the way around shaft to level it up and down to bedrock
Unfortunately digger decided to leak from it's hydraulic cooler so that's put end to play today
