what happened there lorry stopped quick or driver thought he could get an extra one on
If I recall it was all to do with a bit of clothing getting caught up in the widgets getting out of the Cab, it was a long way down and it was hissing down with the rain, the important thing was it had nothing to do with me.

Was sent this link on how to drive Cat D2 & get best out of it by a restorer, there is second part to this explaining use of transmission brake on hand clutch, (different to the Borg & Beck on IH,) & many other vids of his worth seeing - pity this was not out in my youth, I was told you have to really bang the main clutch out, no training or handbook available, no wonder I preferred the 125B / TD8B at the time
Is said to be good for the D4 also. All presupposes the tranny brake is in good order & well adjusted

Found some info on the Case 750 I used to operate as a young man & mentioned earlier here, some say such a machine never existed, could never find evidence till now. No doubt eclipsed by the 850 that jumped in HP from 70 to 81 I think (450A was 57 HP)

Also see on this pic archive of Dutch company Haukes rare pics of ill fated Case 1000 - an early ill fated attempt to make a 4 speed full powershift tractor. Many failed involving Case in a costly buy back programme. They went back to 2 speeds per side with a manual Hi Lo range lever as in the 450, 850, 1150.
Case did not revisit this idea till late '76 when the much more complex 1150B came out. There ads emphasized at the time a focus on reliability, I wondered why not then knowing about the 1000 disaster. (I only knew of a Lesney model of the 1000 blade)
Much more of interest on here inc TD9, Euclid dozer, many draglines inc UK, USA, & Italian made? (Link Belt) machines

Thanks for posting the Haukes pictures, OO. I don’t think they were working in rock in any of the pictures. Also interesting that hardly Any of the the kit was British built. I know RB’s shifted a lot of machines to the cloggies but they were mostly Limas and other American machines, with I think one Rapier?

There are a few Rapier, at least one Smith, do not know about the TD9 Drott, Doncaster made a few it is thought. One USA Make I had never heard of is Unit, also a Euclid dozer, - think this became Terex - I do remember a pic of twin engined twin powershift Terex 82/80

The TD9 wasn’t made at Donc, she was a yank. The Terex 82/80 was originally the Euc TC12, which was Euc’s first dozer, the C6 was half of a TC12.
