........... You can play with the new toy tomorrow
chance would've been a fine thing ......
Tuesday started clear and cool ........ moon was still out when the day kicked off
followed by Reo's arrival shortly after, after a wet Monday rained him off .... he did manage to get some done on the Tuesday ..
and again had a decent-ish day on Wednesday ... so moved down ever further ..
my plans for a couple of hours looking at the new acquisition, were short lived yesterday .... The Boss had other ideas .... Christmas lights time ... ready for Clara this afternoon !! ..... which involves the inevitable excursion into the attic to start with. ... a task in itself ...we have a decent enough roof space, considering half of our first floor is half in the roof anyway ... but it's just a bit full ... has a hatch at each end of the length which are a decent enough size, but no way can you fit a loft ladder in, so it's a fetch a ladder in from outside job ... got a little ex GPO wooden triple 5 footer, which is perfect to (a) get in the house and (b) gain access with ... but it has to be maneuvered into the house first and it's just the wrong weight to be 'easy' !
anyway .. decor found and hatches battened down again ... I have an external power supply set up on the patio for where they are
normally required .... and I say 'normally' .... there were new plans afoot, that I wasn't privy to ..... 'til this point ..... Pam wanted
some in the usual place and others elsewhere !!

.... new power source required

so an hour or so later, much lead juggling and re-making, with some waterproof fittings (I fortunately had 'in stock' -- for a rainy day

) and i'd got a new leccy supply lashed in for the duration .... behind this tree
which i have to say makes for a decent enough looking crimbo tree, suitably adorned (another hour's effort wrapping three sets of twinkly things round it) !!
followed by 'plumbing' these into place and staking 'em down to keep 'em put in a flower bed, when the wind gets up ...
Clara loves the 'little reindeer family' ... almost as much as switching 'em on, when she gets here after school

.... Pam appears to have forgotten the various lights that i'm usually tasked with installing on the bushes surrounding
'said family'
... doubtless she'll twig soon enough

So, 'twere a lot later in the day 'fore i got time for me
dug out a new 6 ft LED twin batten and got a lead onto it so's I could hang it above the Harrison, for a bit more light ... the festoons in that box're ok for brief excursions in search of stuff, but not a lot of cop for doing anything by ...
needs a bracket making up to get it out from the side of the box and totally above the centre of the lathe , but it's a good light ..... and had a couple of hours cleaning a lot of accumulated crap off of said tool ... it's not too bad, but the nooks and crannies are chocka and bet the chip tray sump is similarly crammed

.... ain't looked yet
searched everywhere - in vain for a 32A chassis plug to install on it ... I know there're two here, but damned if I can recall WTF they are and not in me large box of 3 ph plugs/sockets

... be an easier proposition than a trailing lead, to find a home for ... just plug a lead into it, when I want to use it

.... anyway, the rest of the day (and light) disappeared pretty quick.

half four came round quick and Reo'd asked me to run his Audi back to his place for him, when he'd finished for the day and he'd run me back.
It's a pity it'd gotten so dark .... 'cos the TT was
serious

it's the 220BHP model with a built in grin factor of about 15 ... what a lovely drive ... apart from the bloody lights being waaaay too low ... like driving on dip .... the P38 and the Golf are superb in the lumens dept. .... I expected MUCH more from the TT's lamps

.. would love a couple of hours playing in it .... a license killer for sure ...bike quick,

on rails and taught as a drum skin ..... superb! ....... so that was a fun end to the day .... Reo left me behind the wheel for the ride back, fair play ..... 'twas very enjoyable

had me tea and still couldn't find those bloody chassis plugs, so gave up for the day......but 'twere eight o'clock

today's been .. er ..... 'kin wet, cold and miserable ..... and I don't honestly know where it went, least not 'til three, when it was school run time for a certain small person's collection and a couple of hours of entertaining ... after we'd had the 'lights' switch on
and to finish for this evening .. small rant .... got this in the post today along with the usual annual electoral role registration/confirmation letter .....
W T F is this sh*t all about

.... foreigners voting in bloody Wales' elections ...
FFS

.. not enough we feed and house the ****ers

and at 16
FFS!!!!!! ........ I despair
