Is that sbr you are painting on the floor?
certainly is after everyone told me to .... 3:1 mix and slapping it on liberally ...... anyone got any idea why some (not all) of it goes purple in places after it's been down a little while ??

Ahh. Always cement slurry in the paving game . I believe. Your slabs are of the thicker variety so probably wouldn't need the sbr treatment anyway.
Looks good. The grooves underneath may work well as a drip

yeh they're 1.5" thick Dylan ... hard as hell and bloody heavy ... on me knees at the end of the day, chucking them about ... the 900 x 600s are about my limit, these days ... going 50+ kgs a piece ....
the top of the wall has had a bloody good sealing with the 3:1 solution

very damp and foggy start (and end) to the day .... too soggy for any laying ...

Reo arrived at 9, as promised, half hour lie in :giggle: and we got his NSF wheel in the air, once he'd found the locking nut key :LOL:
no one's ever been at this before so all very shitty and in need of copious WD .. WTF introduced the Japs to split pins and castellated nuts  took longer to get 3 splittys out than to get the seriously corroded nuts off :(
ABS sensor ACTUALLY came out  with very little effort  and all the ball joints split sweet .....
got the carrier on the bench and thought I'd give it a try with the sledge, before assembling the press ;) hub came out fairly well with not too many whacks ... only had one race to knock it through
WP_20201108_11_10_19_Pro.jpg

and suitably set up the bearing co-operated equally well, having wrestled the circlip out .... would've been a lot more pleasant to do if it hadn't been peeing on us :cry: ..... new one in, with a big G clamp, to start it and a few blows from my fave 10 lb-er to drive it home, followed by the hub ....
after I'd given this the treatment .......
WP_20201108_15_45_22_Pro.jpg

........ to detach it
reassembled and back on in an hour or so .... and getting a run up the drive by lunchtime, at one .... one very happy Reo :giggle::giggle:(y)
rain'd stopped by two so we had an hour or so chopping the last couple of flags for the steps and had to sacrifice a big 9 x 6  to get the top centre piece in one ... the bit'll come in handy some where in the garden, i'm sure
WP_20201108_14_43_49_Pro.jpg

it should've gotten washed of by the morning -- according to the forecast for tomorrow :(:(
Bottom few cut and sized up too ...

way too wet to go bedding 'em, not enough light and Reo wants to lay and point 'em in one hit, as he comes down the steps, so's they can then get left for ten days without 'traffic' to really go off ..... job for Tuesday, which is supposed to be the best day of the week, next week ... tomorrow is forecast grim :mad:

SWMBO well happy
WP_20201108_13_33_08_Pro.jpg

me well bollo-ed .. 's been a 'heavy' week .... glad of a day's recovery tomorrow (y)

not the greatest of pix ... but the lights illuminate the steps well, apart from the top landing ... two post top lamps of some kind'll cure that ... wiring is laid in to cater for them (y) ..... would like a couple of 6"-ish globes, but damned if I can find any yet :censored: ... want five .. two for the gate post tops, one each end of the trellis and one for the gate pillar, when it gets rebuilt .... should distribute the 'lumens' pretty evenly, along the run ..... can't have enough light up here when it gets dark ... it's BLACK!!:whistle:

got the last of the wall to persuade into spot once I get it dug out a bit and some concrete in to sit it on .... but the flags are cut and ready to drop on
pile of offcuts and a couple of 9 x 6s boxed up ....
WP_20201110_12_06_46_Pro.jpg

reckon the 9 x 6s'd make a nice garden table or two even with a bit of fab. ;)

......and these I have ear marked for me sump area .... when i get a support structure made up to cover it ...

job almost done. (y):)

Reo's been busy pointing in and setting the steps ... a drier day'd have helped

Old faithful's been giving me grief this last week .... daren't turn it off as the screen is pot luck whether it comes back or not ... dunno whether it's the screen or the vid. card in the tower ...
either way I need some 'back up' / a n other tool ....
Alex (cyberprog) has been busy pointing me in the right directions for summat suitable .. and most of the bits have arrived - posty's been busy this week .. even all the bloody cables have moved on, so've had to go cable shopping too.
Glad of his help on this .. wouldn't have known where to start :unsure: ..... Windows 10 is likely to be a steep learning curve from what i've seen of it before and might get re-configured to look like XP :giggle:
got a nice shiny new (bigger) screen and might get another ..... like the look of two side by side ... awesome view ..... he did show me this too ....:oops: but at that price it'll be staying there
s-l400.jpg

would need a bigger office, to say now't of a bigger 'puter workstation ..... that is some screen
soooooooo .. watch this space, for news on the new improved Druid comm. ctr. .... but not 'til the bloody 'net has returned to a more normal, stable state ... it'll be needed to synch all me stuff from steam to jet powered ;):)

At least you won't have to stoke the boiler for half an hour to get it up and running, just feed it some Jet A1 and away you go!

We have the same problem at our office with poor internet speeds much the same as your having. Fiber cable is only a mile away from us stops half way up the hill, BT has rather nicely said they would continue it to our office for 40k  we’ve been give a 4g usb stick that plugs into the back of the router had it for a year or so it’s a great improvement.

did BT give you the 4G dongle Mark ?? .......
I swapped from BT to SSE a while back ... best thing I could've done .... UK call centre, dedicated a/c manager (who is / has been ****ing brilliant, the last couple of months) ... half the price BT was costing ... and the best bit is -- no waiting ... SSE and their like,. who use BT's cables get priority service over BT's own customers (from the horses mouth - every engineer who comes here confirms it)
day, two max, instead of two weeks waiting with BT (unless you have a biz a/c ... then it's 24 hrs max.)
this was 2 mins ago ..... ****ing BT strikes again

The main problem is you are 4.7km from the exchange.
the main problem is it eats ****ing ADSL filters ..... just put a new one in line again and am back to 2mb and improving ..... last engineer had us up to 4.1mb

There is something fundamentally wrong with it if its doing that.

Ring A&A tomorrow and have a chat with them, see what they recommend. They aren't a high pressure sales like company, and their MD is a fully fledged geek.

Looks very reasonable to me. Might give them a call as I need to upgrade all the office lines and broadband. Cheers for that. Any name to mention for referral?
You can mention me if you want, doubt it'll mean anything to the guys on the ground - Alex from Cyberprog :)

Ack, not bothered, they know their s**t, that's the important thing, and they will be on BT's case to get things sorted.

I'm wondering if druid's line is getting some voltage from a electric fence or something, but sounds like he needs something sat on it monitoring line voltage for a long period of time.
