the water doesn't really soak in, to the roller, a lot ... and keeps the paint from the air, so doesn't go hard ..... in work, where I had a lot of rollers, they just lived in a bucket of water, still on their 24" handle ... shake and a bit of a roll out ... ready to go Do you thin the paint when rollering or just pour it into the tray straight from the tin Graham? sod faffing with a tray ..... just dip the roller in the pot, shake off the excess and bollock it on MB .... can cover some ground with a dip .... those ramps on the bench for the mower, were two dips a side ...... 4'6" x 2' plus lips ...... and get a real good cover .... neat out the pot usually, but sometimes have to thin the HBZP oxide as that can be like treacle

never tried a schultz gun, on anything but schultz, but bet it fair chucks it on
... I've got a hydraulic powered airless spray unit, which is for serious spraying ... water pistol for paint ... puts it on as fast as you can keep up, but the clean up is such a faff ... need to be painting a LOT to warrant getting it out ..... will kill a 25 litre drum of paint in some order ... neat out the drum ..... was bloody great for boats and big fuel tanks .... OK on structural too, but had to get it all laid out ready first .... and needed plenty of space and trestles ... the gun is on the end of 100 ft of hose .... could spray a 40 ft box as fast as you can walk along itSounds ace - I hate painting and would much rather have it coming out really fast everywhere than fanny about waiting to get stuff covered. Flying home from Bristol airport years ago, standing in the que to board the plane when a girl (a real looker too) came up and started chatting to me, an Irish girl, called me by name and all! Cracked and chatted for a good few mins, asked how I was and what I was doing in Bristol? ) memory like a f****ng hawk and by f**k he got around.... Did a similar thing with Taylor a while back. For those on the old forum he also knows Dehane from the North Devon Link Road days, and another friend from Stockport from a Miller Mining project. It's a f****ng small world!

It's a pity he's never wrote a book as the storys and knowledge is incredible, from the true glory days of our industry (1950's - early 2000's) been around the world doing concrete pumps/shotcrete among any other things. Hell of a brain!
