Could it be an option to fit an independent tank/pump setup powered by a battery similar to the setup you get on an ifor Williams tipper, either with a leisure battery fitted or an Anderson plug connection for powering from prime mover. The hydraulics could have a tee to be driven directly from other equipment like dumper or jake but when on hydrema could be donkey pump to get her up.
that's not a bad idea Mike ..... funnily enough, was only cursing myself this morning, for not keeping some of the 12/24V pumps I used to have sat about, for similar sort of thoughts :( dunno how they'd cope with that size set up though

I thought you said you had a bit of 32 knocking around.... It’d be fine for flushing, and you wouldn’t need to fill the reservoir right up whilst flushing either. A mere few hundred litres/quid and you could turn your back on all of the issues/hurdles/headaches imposed upon you by that ‘environmentally friendly’ shite that came with your prime mover!

Druid,

Taking the idea of a separate onboard pump one step further, how about using a small engine to drive the pump?

You can get two channel remote controls on eBay for only a few quid. They are like garage door openers. If you use a two channel one the first channel would be to start the engine and the second for lift and lower.

A bit of work to build but once in use would be ‘simples’ and you could tow it with any vehicle of your choice, even the P38😀😀😀

yeh, correct ... prob.s in excess of 600+ ltrs .... but I still have to put the bio somewhere, plus all the flushes ... and TBH I'd be well worried about all the seals, pipes, etc. .... it's only ever had bio in in it ..... for the grief, I'll stick with it ;):cautious:

THAT is real interesting idea Rob .... no need for any connections/ plumbing/re-plumbing of any description (y) .. as for the P38 :(

I think the easiest option is the electric pump idea. A decent battery like the ones fitted on the Ifor‘s will do quite a few tips on a charge. As you’ve said, you’re not out working on sites with it, at the moment....😬....., so you could have a good battery in one of your boxes on a trickle charge, ready for the job. A remote switching kit for a winch is not too expensive off eBay and will give you tipping abilities from the seat if need be. No faffing with hoses, no mixing oils, no plumbing up dumpers, 3CX etc.....
if your new, top secret, tow vehicle is plumbed for tipping, then a three way lever valve could be fitting so that you could tip it conventionally, but it might just be a whole lot easier with the electric pump.....
You can always charge the battery from the tow vehicle, but is that even necessary?

Is the ‘drema 12 or 24v? What about a transit tipper type setup mounted in the chassis and just an Anderson plug cable connection for power.

Tbf even if it is 24v there are tail lift pumps probably cheap in comparison to 12v ones too can't see there being as big a market

Or the exact item if 24v

I think with the size of the trailer, and the size of your machine, I’d just spin your bucket and a couple of pushes and the load will be out.

24 volts Pettsy .....
must've binned half a dozen of these units in me clear out ... 24 and 12 volt :(:( as said .. couldn't keep it all

used to do a lot for a truck dealer ... he'd buy trucks with box bodies on .... we'd strip 'em off ... he could sell chassis cabs easier than box vans ... we usually had a terrific deal on the boxes and I'd sell 'em on ... minus the tail lifts usually, if fitted ... and ended up with a lot of scrap -( them tail lifts are 'kin heavy ) ... and pump units ... just kept the best ones

Yep this sounds like just the ticket. I suppose you have to weigh up what you plan to do with this kert.

either that or just leave the ram unpinned, unless I want to hydraulically tip it Oll .. pin comes in and out easy enough and have stuck a lynch in the one side ..... replaced the nipple in it today too, so can keep it lubed

Yeh, the trailer I have at the moment isn’t a tipping one and all I do is drop the sides down, couple of minutes tops and it’s empty and this trailer is over twice the size of my old one.

That’s perfect Gra, did mention something like that earlier on, but just been able to do it from the side of the trailer rather than having to crawl underneath each time, that way at least you get to fabricate something😀😎
