Wonder if it's my old one me on left of pic

Don't think so as our machine doesn't have cab roof lights, or any wiring up top to indicate there ever was. Seems a basic spec really. No hammer lines (pins quite tight as a result) and no A/C either... But just in process of fitting proportional controls, so we will then have auxiliaries. I'll start a thread on some of these projects as they might interest others. I was amazed how cheap JCB supply proportional pilot oil valves...

small pins for a 20, yet enormous cheeks  surprised the Tachi is on 80s ... thought the 'Drema wears big pins at 70 mm for a 15 tonner

As for project sharing ... thanks to you for the kind words and to everyone else who takes an interest (y)... be pointless otherwise .. and like the old adage says .. "if a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well " ..... an' I'm a fussy bugger anyway :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: ... my living used to depend on stuff being right ;):)

for anyone interested (or of a masochistic tendency) there are always loads more pix here ... I keep this up to date

Yeah I'm very much of the same principle, I'm guessing that why I've more work than I know what to do with at the moment, some of it down to previous repairs carried out badly. Which makes it twice as difficult second time round, I might add I don't do half baked repairs, so me being on the second attempt usually means someone else has had a go first. Nowt more annoying!

To be honest, the newer cheap buckets are exactly that. Yes a 2" for a 210 is under £1000 but can you really see it lasting

Best buy I had this year was a Esco 2' Rock Bucket and a 4' Geith for my 210 at £300 the pair. Utter Bargain and putting them beside the modern equivalent you soon see why cheap stuff is cheap.

I'd agree with this. The steel in the bucket itself is impressive. I guess before accountants got control and steel was a quality product back then they made really heavy buckets? It is actually a Geith but I'm thinking an early one? I'll get some shots when I'm on with the next stage of the process. Just waiting on some EN8 bright bar landing.

Those buckets you acquired sound like a bargain...

Mine never had auxiliary's or air conditioning must be a standard thing
Bloody stable machines long under carriages on them

used to get a lot of that in my place .... bodgery extrordinaire .... then they'd want it doing properly ... would've been so much easier if we'd had the first crack usually :mad:

Pam's dropped into Crimbo mode 🥳🎄 :( o_O .... I just love searching the attic for all the accouterments  .... 'specially as it was dry and the yellow thing was out to play this morning ☹ .... so .. some time later .. I eventually escaped to me box.

had a bit of a head count on boss requirements for what was missing and what I have planned / on the cards and set up the Startrite ...

WP_20191207_14_47_04_Pro.jpg

slight problem with having it plugged in to the genny ... t'other outlet's a 32 Amper, so had to spend a bit of time creating an adapter to run anything else on a 16A plug ... like the Ajax or the belt grinder ....

WP_20191207_15_26_16_Pro.jpg

so a two into one got stuck together and was able to hover between the saw and the miller simultaneously :giggle:... speeded up the extra 15 boss's production no end, especially as they'll both quit at predetermined points with the stops set(y) Genny ran faultlessly again, with no issues, first flick ... hopefully that terminal I gave some attention to WAS the issue all along :)

got 'em all bored, then gave 'em all a good fettling on the belt grinder ..... 😁

before having a major tidy up ... swarf everywhere 😦 ... not good for cat's paws or getting stuck in yer boots
everything away and tidied up just in time for tea at six :giggle:🍽🍕🍕

tomorrow's looking good on the forecast, so we might get the SEC de-oiled and plumbed for a trial, before dropping the adapter back off it for some of these bosses 👍 and some corner trimming/fettling ;) .... 'fore @Mogman gets on my case for sharp corners :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

... and it might develop a taste for Ford Rangers

Oi, I just bought one of them. Put it down and go pick on something like an old P38 Rangey which might be hanging around you yard making the place look untidy 😀😀

Glad to see the old chick getting put to use.

had one particular Ranger in mind @Rob65  ...... hails from Kingsbridge and its pilot is continually abusing a Druid  .... he'll be careful where he parks it, next time he's here :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Chuck's done a great job Boyo ... so simple to set up once the initial alignment got did (y) .... plus as said ... this CDS is not the roundest of materials internally  so'd be a nightmare to set each one individually :(

'Twas a wild night here, last might .. God knows what the West coast of Paddyland was like .... had a horrendous forecast, according to the box.. bad enough here!!
Pam on a mission this morning .. headed for town .. in Crimbo mode  ... 'least I wasn't involved, other than the list I got left for this morning's adventures.
Bloody twinkly lights !! :( Clara does love 'em though :giggle: .. Four inches of water back in the fish pond .... as I said was some wild night o_O:unsure: and sort a few other bits an' bobs ........ and I was sorted ...

Time for some oil extraction ....

WP_20191209_13_54_51_Pro.jpg

tha's one side of the cylinder closed up tight as ... plumbing off to the port and drained, blown out and refitted ... not a lot in it thankfully ... then on to t'other ...

WP_20191209_14_04_22_Pro.jpg

not much in here either :giggle: ... pipes blown through and the ports ;) .... couldn't have been a lot left anywhere ...

sorted some FF males and got 'em screwed on to the pipe ends, then quietly fed it some Plantohyd .... this is 61.5" full open ..

WP_20191209_14_46_43_Pro.jpg

surprised the ports're only 3/8" on it  ... half would've been a better bet IMHDO ... but it gets there ..:)(y)

glad I added the extra inch to the one pair of legs on the adapter ... would've been too close for comfort without it ... if not too tight

WP_20191209_14_50_15_Pro.jpg

hose lengths were fine, fully crowded and open, but closed and extended out was a different matter .... another 12" needed .... so found meself some 18", half inchers ... which annoyingly were BSP/metric, but luckily had some suitable 1/2"BSP/metric adapters and it all went together nicely ...

WP_20191209_15_49_47_Pro.jpg

with plenty of tolerance to thread 'em through me 'carrier' rings ....

WP_20191209_15_49_58_Pro.jpg

gonna have to watch they do not get snagged on those protruding pins though :cautious: ... couple more rings might be on the cards to be sure ;):sneaky:
Will have to have a look another day .... Pam back and wanting to do me treatment, as we'd left it this morning, in deference to her 'mission'. :giggle:

so left the SEC on and dropped the 'Drema out on her parking block, found another for the SEC ....

WP_20191209_16_01_31_Pro.jpg

WP_20191209_16_05_45_Pro.jpg

...... and scuttled off indoors, after a major square up, for some more plumbing ..... of a different kind .... in me arm !!

.......But not before doing this one for you lot ...

shuts with a hell of a 'CLACK':giggle::giggle: ... You'd deffo not want to have anything you value in there :LOL: ... and that's on 180 bar, on me rotate line
need to acquire a check valve for the closure port .... from my experiences with me Cranab, these things tend to 'let go' quietly without a check in the circuit, at the port.

Interestingly when I ran her up this afternoon, everything on the dash worked perfectly :)(y)... the odd temperamental switch (which're always annoying) performed faultlessly :unsure: .... but more annoyingly, the auto throttle settings seem to have got their head in a knot  ... will have to put the tacho on it and see what's what .....idle is well low and the first 'S' throttle setting (1400rpm) is too .... hence the low(er then usual) throttle setting in the vid :( ...... curiously the 'L' setting (1800rpm) sounded about right to my ear :confused: ... Summat's either gone out of adjustment .. or summat stuck isn't any more ??

Once she gets moving she does go with a clack!

Unlike my bloody Discovery which doesn't want to move right now. Really hope it's the EGR valves like the guy said. Shall blank those off PDQ...

(Still stuck at work with it, 4 hours later...)

Very true. Gonna have to figure out what's wrong - it drives so I know it's not gearbox. It boosts so probably not turbo. Just struggles down at low RPM until you get it going. Very odd.

so ........... have you torched it yet ??? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: seems a strange fault .... not in too high a gear on take off is it? that'd 'bog' it for sure ??

Don't think so, but I can try putting it into manual mode and see what it does. It was chugging like a good-un when I tried to move it off the recovery truck and back on the drive last night. I'm going to blank off the EGR's and see how she behaves then. May need to clean out the centre inlet manifold also, hopefully I can get it off and remove the butterfly also.

is it firing on all cylinders? take it it's a TDV6 ... injector loom fault like the TD5s? .... not familiar with the marque/model  ... never even driven one  ... they don't 'float my boat' ... fugly things

Seperate looms, but we'd see injector codes and we're not seeing that. I'll pressure test the fuel pump before I mess with it.
