It was a hiab type control but it was a proper crane too. Not as in a crane on a flatbed this was soley a lorry with a crane fixed boom which extends not fold out jobby. Think it was on a 7.5t chassis. Sure the driver said about 200k worth if that sounds right? He says they are becoming popular

Sounds like a Bocker AK44/4000 crane mate of mine did a stint driving the one in the link said it was a good machine to drive and operate just the boss was a bit of dick lol

new one on me Andy .... looks a tool, especially with a basket on the head .... surprised at the final comment .... used to have a rep for being great people to work for ....
one of my old machines was ex-Quinto IIRC ... Coles 25/28 HydraTruck, which I was reliably told by Ross Wilson (ex - Coles sales) was the very last 25/28 they ever built, before going over to the 825 Supertruck ...

He had it from new on the fleet and said it was a decent bit of kit and could put the lifts in. We deal a lot with them as they hire gear off us speak to a lot of the guys and the ones who have been there years say it was a good mob to work for but they got bought out a few years ago by a local farming contracting company and he made it rubbish now. Got talking to one of the machinery moving guys and he was saying they dont pay for hotels over night so he was going back and forth to slough every day for a week

That was like it but different company more local so probably had unusually good service from driver. It was Saturday and he was on job and knock so reckon I could have given him the nail gun n all if I'd of wanted. It is better because your not making a twat of yourself giving the wrong signs to driver he's up on the scaff with you.

the biggest issue with a 'stranger' banking is they can't seem to appreciate that the crane moves in a circle

a very quiet private cul de sac with only 3 or 4 properties down there Shaun ... all informed of proceedings .. and no 'knob heads' or public rights of way to anywhere else/through access .... my Rangey's parked in the entrance .... (P38's predecessor - mint Vogue EFi )

if the fire or other emergency service needed access, the legs on her'd be up and out the way in seconds ... very fast little tool in use.
sometimes you just gotta do what yer gotta do ..... to get it done .. the 'man in the seat' was a very experienced operator.

only real difference'd be some cones either side, 'praps and a second man rigging ... Dai was slinging himself ... not many lifts and easy in/out of the Rapier - just step in/out of the side mounted cab ... rigger'd also be 'crowd control' ..... that wasn't a main street, in centre of town .. be a different story then

Haven’t yet ever had any cranes but do enjoy my stint balancing pallets on full reach on a telehandler!

LOL ...... and tend to agree ... never owned a sport .. much as I've been tempted ... especially by the TDV8 ...
that black one was my youngest one at '89 ... my oldest one was '70 - chassis #964 ...sadly sold on ..... and loads in between


As for the balancing bit ..... the 'Drema can have its moments with A LOT on the forks ... a Druid stuffed dumpy, on a pallet, at full stretch is good practice

Well he was told not to buy a ****ing transit .... suddenly been told that said van ISN'T here for the winter, parked up and he might be coming up next weekend to collect it !!!!!

and this lil' Tweco 150 torch is the dog's danglies for fine work

it's so small in the hand and has a great neck on it ....
bought this off an old customer ... who used to use it to weld his canal boat fleet when they sprung a leak ... it's earned its corn in its time ... he put the hideous trolley under it, for use on his rough yard ....
sold him a single phase 250 Thermal Arc ... and had a deal against this 'un ... owed me sod all 20 years ago .... and owes me even less now

been chasing steel all afternoon Mog ..... absolute shite ... cut back to what looks like summat, only to have it vaporise before your eyes, as you strike anywhere near it. I've stuck some crap back together in me time, but this has to be pretty well up there, near the top of the pile for "OMG WTF do I do with this ??" ....... 's a miracle performed job

three coats of HBZP primer does a reasonable job ......

as does Holts underbody sealer ..... 'specially when it's like tar .....

should keep the weather at bay for a while. At least it's solid now and will stand the MOT man's hammer .... 'til everything around it gives up
this has already had some pretty extensive patching ... all on the nearside .. thanks mostly to running in the gutters, I'd guess, accumulating all manner of crud

Has completely burgered me up this afters, working overhead, arms above me head .... body just does not like it AT ALL ... off me face on a Tramadol cocktail this evening ....... not quite @Simon edwards' Rioja ... but a similar effect .....
and zero pain which beat me about four o'clock .... that and the cold !!

Was still frost on the ground first thing when Clara arrived ... but foggy as hell .... lifted here by the time she went off to nursery at 8.45 ... here at least ... was pretty dense down below us though ...
